When we all thought Issac Hayden would be leaving Newcastle maybe he will, in fact, stay – if Rafa stays.
That’s what some of his comments suggest in his interview today in the Chronicle.
Since we thought the player was on his way this would be some coup for Rafa and Newcastle if somehow we get the former Arsenal youngster to stay on Tyneside.
And both parties also have to work out his family situation with a solution.
Rafa Benitez congratulates Isaac Hayden – will they both stay at Newcastle?
This is what Isaac has told the Chronicle this morning:
“It’s the same as always. We will see what happens in the summer but I have had plenty of talks with the clubs in the last couple of weeks.
“The signs have been very positive. I’ll see what happens.”
“I think it’s (Rafa) a big situation for everyone.” “I don’t think the club will do anything without the manager’s say so.”
“Especially if he stays.”
“He has been very receptive and honest with me and I can’t thank him enough for the season I’ve had.” “He has been understanding of the situation.”
“It was emotional (his standing ovation on Saturday). It was one of those things that will stay with me for the rest of my life.”
“When I signed three years ago I could never have imagined a reception like that if I left.” “It’s credit to them, they have stuck by me and by the team.”
“They can see the rewards and performances we’ve put in.” “Hopefully, now the club can push on.”
“It was a fantastic way to sign off for the season. We had the fans travelling in their droves, I think it was almost 5,000 or so.”
“To get a 4-0 win in front of them was something special.”
“We knew before the game we had to put in a performance, not just because we are professional but we knew we could move up a place.”
“Bournemouth lost so we put ourselves up a position.”
“As professionals, you want to finish as high as possible. It means more for the club than the players but at the end of the day you are professional and you do your best.”
“I think it was called off. I wasn’t too privy to it as I had already booked my holidays a couple of months ago.”
“I think a few of the lads were going to go on it (The Las Vegas trip Ashley mentioned last November) but it was cancelled.”
“To be fair Mike Ashley came into the dressing room, shook everybody’s hand and said thanks for the season, we said thanks back.”
“He (Ashley) is making an effort and trying to do the right things.”
“He (Ashley) has been very receptive and honest with me and I can’t thank him enough for the season I’ve had. He has been understanding of the situation.”
Seems like Ashley was trying to mend some fences in the dressing room on Sunday afternoon.
We assume Hayden will be offered a new and improved deal to stay in the northeast.

Comment #41More stats from the other 14 clubs, not including the top 6 teams.
– Most goals scored, not including penalties, only vardy, Richardson and Wilson scored more than Perez. Rondon was behind joking with sigurdsson and Jimenez.
– only wan Bissaka had a higher tackle success than Issac Hayden.
– again, only wan bissaka had less players dribble past them than Isaac hayden

Comment #42Panda what a stupid muppet you are. If McClaren signed Murphy ormuto uwud complain but rafa, no. Brilliant. Jail, lying again i see. I didn’t reference Lucas at all?? I rafa wanted the Palace winger fair enough, I get that. But don’t dress up Murphy as anything other than a mistake. I appreciate that every signing is a risk, and managers are not always to blame, but really, cotton wooling rafa is an embarrassment. If fat Sam signed him we wud call it as it is. Muto hasn’t been up to much either and new York highlighted that we wanted him. I don’t mind rafa making an error, but I laugh in the face of ostriches like you who stick your heads in the sand if anyone points out something that is negative even in a tiny way. Laughable fools.

Comment #53“vaping” is the nicotine – addiction industry moving into the modern era. The very term is designed to denote harmlessness, however the simple fact is that the industry is not interested in your health and getting you off the addiction, on the contrary it’s desire is to keep you hooked on its product and continue to buy it and make them immensely rich as did tobacco firms of old. Naturally they will say it’s safe, as did cigarette firms also of old. There is no need for flavouring except to possibly add desirability to continuing, and of course appeal to an even younger audience in the alco-pop style. The bottom line is that inhaling anything other than good old unpolluted air is not in the lungs design, and so will inevitably, definitely harm them.
The best way to get off nicotine is to stop immediately and show some backbone and determination. All free, don’t thank me, you know it makes sense before I even started saying it. 🙂

I got my eye on some real oldie worldy knarly miss shaped twisted facades of the pubs down a few winding cobbled streets .. it was like a step back in time . The place has real character and you imagine the history . Like stepping into the 12th century.
I see the names of the pubs but can never remember them on returning home .
It’s been many years since visiting old Lincoln .

Comment #57series of interesting long reads on the Chronicle about Jamie Harley’s sport science team, to Dr Caterson using the science data, to the way Rafa builds teams via his dossier of 14,000 players.
Interesting bit about fostering team spirit and how it is all about wanting to improve as an individual and team. Hayden apparently was distressed after a bad performance so spent two hours in Rafa’s office going over and talking about what could be improved, from positioning to tackling. Great attitude! No wonder players want to come play for Rafa.
I hope Hayden stays as he’s only going to improve, esp when the Longstaff partnership starts back up. Wish him all the best whatever happens.

Comment #58Munsters still going on about Murphy and some Dane who we never actually got? Why? Doesn’t every manager in the world have players that don’t step up despite early promise? Let it go man it’s not even a proper stick for beating with, it’s more like a bent straw.

I agree with you 100% about the nicotine based industry. Philip Morris ( as of Marlboro etc) are offering free vaping kit to those who can show they’re determined to stop using cigarettes. For the tobacco companies of course it makes sense with a hooked customer base and less manufacturing costs, they get… bigger and consistent profits.
But, at my age, the damage is done and my motivation is limiting any more.

Comment #62Ok Regarding the debate on Vaping/Smoking
I started smoking when I was 16 & continued for 40 years (more fool me!) I finally quit 19 years ago after many countless failed attempts.
Stopping Smoking was the best thing I did, apart from meeting & marrying my good lady.
I decided enough was enough after coughing up and being sick before heading up to Force HQ where I worked.
Even though I’ve now been rid of “the weed” for so long I suffer from numerous respiratory issues. I (try to Ha Ha sing) because I’m told it’s good for your lungs!
I won the battle after deciding enough was enough but I now wish I had succeeded years earlier or never started at all!
I stopped with a combination of nicotine patches will power and a decision never to buy another packet of fags ever. The first year I bummed a fag six or seven times but on the last occasion I smoked half of it and it was foul.
At last, I’d quit – just wish I’d done it sooner!

Don’t not vote on 23rd. The EU elections will be a barometer of feelings and Farage the liar and Trump puppet is too confident and many people who can’t see through him support him.
If you are anyone else don’t want to see the UK terminally damaged, use your vote for any party or person who has a realistic chance of putting the nasty bustard in his box – permanently. Lib Dem or Green come to mind.
Bollox Brexit, F*** Farage!

Comment #64Strange as it may seem and coincidental Tsunki, an Aunt of mine ..well know actress/actor at one time , well she used to organise a summer festival for a region in UK ..and she would always book the Barron Nights ..I met them more than once .
Not my thing but it was 1960s something or other year .. I won’t mention that I was coerced to ride on a float with them for 30 seconds going down a city main street before the embarrassment made me hop off ..all the daft cheering and clapping .
Bloody embarrassing.
Face goes crimson at the thought of it.
