Newcastle United have tweeted about local lad Sean Longstaff’s progress from his knee injury suffered this past March. He was injured in the away fixture at West Ham.
The club has just tweeted this about Sean’s recovery.
? @seanlongstaff97 has started light running and ball work as he looks to recover from the knee injury which cut his breakthrough season short in March.

It looks like Sean is recovering well from his injury and is on track to be back on at least light training when the squad report in early July.
The initial estimate for his injury lay off was four months and that would be the first week of July. So it appears that the initial reports were correct and that Sean is progressing as expected.
Sean Longstaff– when he injured himself at West Ham
It would be a bonus if Sean can get into the first preseason match against Wolves in the Premier League Asia Trophy on July 17th.
A full preseason would be excellent for the youngster. And judging from his recent comments he appears to be raring to get back on the pitch for Newcastle.
A few days ago the club tweeted this snippet from his full interview on NUFC TV.
? @seanlongstaff97 has been reflecting on his brilliant breakthrough season at Newcastle United – and has been telling NUFC TV about his recovery from the knee injury which cut his campaign short.

MA has been chased by the HMRC now since 2016
You think they are going to turn a blind eye ?
Those companies had ties to politicians

Comment #43Funny how everyone can see how MA wont fall foul of this
Lets be optimistic over the obvious fake sale but not over an actual way to rid ourselves of the parasite

Comment #47And any tax issues at the club will first be challenged but then can be settled. It is not like Bolton where they do not have the money to pay back the Inland Revenue. If there is liability, either Ashley or the Sheikh will pay the back taxes and any fines. In the scheme of either’s wealth it is a pimple on their arses so I have no idea why Toon22 thinks it is such a big issue.

Comment #48You see the pro MA brigade dont like the whole HMRC situation
As it would force the hand of the prem under fit and proper rules if MA went to prison wouldnt it
Hence my email to the FA they ignored
But ive since found the rules do cover this kind of thing in the prem league as they are different to the rest of the league now
Tick..Tock..Tick..

They changed the law to get SD to hand over documents
Have been chasing MA for years
Have changed the penalties for such crimes
Lets not bother having any hope it might help us and go on believing yet another sale
You would think a fan would be happy at the thought no matter how slim

Comment #57How the hell is it pro Mike Ashley to point out that SD and Mash Holdings are separate entities and any audit of SD has no effect on MASH Holdings and NUFC?
In addition, I am not being pro-Ashley by saying he could pay any back taxes and fines levied against NUFC. I can’t even be bothered to look into it closely because the money is there in the NUFC accounts without any more needed from the Fat Man.

I still hope HMRC are looking at AshLIE, as long as it doesn’t cause the club any grief.
Ernst and Young were appointed to sort out his financial implications when Kenyon was involved, I would imagine the same would apply with this buyer.

Its got nothing to do with money owed to or from the toon
Its about MA ending up in prison for helping his brother avoid paying tax
Hence his falling foul of the fit and proper rules

Comment #70Ashley has a lot more to worry about than the taxman. Sports retailers simply don’t last indefinitely and Sports Direct look like they are having a few problems. If every other retailer on the high street are having problems then his tat shops will have them too, eventually. Maybe he has been savvy enough to set up an invulnerable on-line presence but I doubt it. The life cycle of sports retailers is much faster with the internet.
Best Ashley gets rid of all distractions (NUFC) and concentrates on his core business.

Comment #71Great to see Sean back and in light training, hope he makes July’s China tournament.
If not, the start of the season would be ideal, with Diame gone and Sean back it fills in that gap very nicely.
I hope we get some real news next week and not the utter tosh we are getting from the big news and local rags.
