Rafa Is Back At Newcastle, But What Does This Mean?

Sky Sports has shown the following footage of Rafa Benitez returning to the Benton Training Ground, which was provided on Twitter by NUFC fan Robin Verhagen:

This is the first time the manager has been seen at Newcastle since his final press conference after the season’s final game at Fulham.

With less than three weeks remaining on his current contract, the speculation is vast as to why Rafa has returned.

Could there be significant progress on his contract talks? Is he there to do photographs with a new transfer?

Or maybe he there on routine business.

Let’s just hope we don’t get follow up footage of Benitez carrying a box of family photos and “How to Defend Corners” props back to the car.

Then there will be a Chernobyl level meltdown in Newcastle.

With the current level of communication from the club being sub-zero, all we can do is speculate.

It is really sad that the simple act of the manager returning to his club has resulted in mass confusion on Tyneside.

Keith Downie has sent out the following tweet on the return of Rafa:

Maybe it is just nothing. But how are we to know at this point.

From what I gather Rafa came in to pick up his extra set of spectacles and some old breath mints he found in his drawer.

I could have went to work on the build of the new GCHQ, good money.

I didn’t go as I knew just fron the background checks how bad it would be, plus I wouldn’t have passed.

Benitez knows the score, keeping his cards close to his chest as usual, he’s at the toon for a while yet.

Could the meeting not be something to do with the China trip?

Injections, medicals, confirming passports travel arrangements etc?

Either Sky have a cameraman perched outside our training ground 24/7 or, they were tipped off about something, or, they be tapping the phones again.

There are hints that negotiations are continuing, hinging mainly on Ashhole getting continued free or low cost advertising at the ground. If I were the sheikh I would have a simple answer for that. NO! Getting continued discounts or free advertising is really a way of adding to the price of the club. The deal is supposed to be 350M so that should be what is paid and then advertising is at the going commercial rate Mikey…

    Oo

Mate of mine used to buy a lot of surplus from GCHQ, had the contract .. It was worth £millions , he was supposed to scrap it and make his money that way . Sensitive info and circuit design and decoding progs involved .. scrapped the more sensitive stuff. Some of the Receivers , Transceivers, and peripherals, over engineered equipment and military spec … how he could put the hammer through them !
