Fans React To Perez’ Comment – He Would Be Delighted To Join Valencia

News today that Valencia have already spoken with Ayoze Perez about moving to Valencia and Perez seems very open to joining one of Spain’s best clubs.

It’s five years since Perez joined us from Tenerife and last year was his very best season at Newcastle when he scored 13 goals for us and looked absolutely terrific at times.

His skill has never been doubted, but he has been inconsistent at Newcastle.

But this year he scored a lot of goals for us, and it seems that Rafa’s coaching was starting to get the best out of the Spaniard.

But there’s news in the Star today that Perez would be delighted to sign for Valencia and has told close friends he is open to the move.

Where Newcastle is in all of this but the club is drifting like a ship in the ocean with no direction known – to quote Bob Dylan.

Rafa Benitez congratulates Ayoze Perez after winning 3-2 against Everton
Ayoze scored two goals in the last 10 minutes to win the game for us

Here are some comments from Newcastle fans about the situation.

When are Newcastle going to wake up and do some work this summer?

Just a thought with only just over three weeks to go before players report back to training.

    Jib,
On what evidence do you base your theory that Perez tends to drop to the level of players around him?

I think it is important for fans to ignore the media hyperbole when trying to understand this takeover,Fakeover stuff. They know nothing more than we do and we need to keep our sanity

Be aware of cryptic clues..Media speculation as its only to clamour attention.

Take the appearance of Benitez at Benton yesterday.Social Media goes into meltdown of what it could mean.
A story gets released regarding the consortium coming over to tie the deal up and we have members on plane watch all day talking about flight paths.

To much time on there hands I’m afraid

    jazzyp,
The brass neck on this guy, he was making out that a deal had been struck to keep the advertising for two seasons, what the initial deal was and it’s sticking points. He was just making it all up with people asking him more questions and lapping it up.

As for Perez and his levels, it is still very much debatable whether he’s good enough for a top team in the first place.

Just checked back as the bus is flying along this morning.

I have a feeling that Ayoze May have moved with or without Rafa this time, but only to a decent La Liga team. I rate the lad but he frustrates me with his inconsistency.

There is going to be a rebuilding job to be done as Mo and Hayden are going to need replaced and full back areas are not as good as Rafa wants.

Obviously the longer things drag on the harder that becomes.

Still optimistic that this time our parasitic overlord leaves bit that optimism is draining with every no comment I hear from the shambles that Jabba and the tea boy have created.

England have played 8 competitive games since the WC, in which Stirling has scored 6 goals. I think he deserves a bit more credit than you gave him to be fair.

    Jib,
That is very lazy Spanish journalism if they think they can get him for the price of €11M quoted in transfermarkt. I’d hazard a guess and say Mashers wouldn’t settle for less than £35M.

Yeah saw that mate. As if a consortium worth around 20 billion are going to bow down to Ashley over sponsorship rights.
I would imagine the image rights for SJP will be all or nothing for the new owners and that could here be a sticking point with Ashley wanting his own way again as he always wants to be victorious in any business venture he does

As for Perez – its not him leaving that’s a concern – its who (if any) will replace him. You cant rely on a
£2M punt to come off every time.

Elias as a first team starter ……

Perez also took the criticism he got from fans badly and the fingers in the ears would have got him far worse stick if he hadn’t kept scoring at the end of the season.

I reckon there is a bit pf sticking two fingers up at the fans behind his desire to move on as well as wanting to go back to Spain.

    jazzyp,
I haven’t voted but I don’t think he will, no matter what is written in to a contract he knows that after three years neither Charnley or Ashley can be trusted. Ashley simply doesn’t share his ambition and he is dealing with a Chairman who thinks 13th is a good season.

A depressing thought mate if Rafa does leave and we have to go through another season of turmoil under Mikey boy. The football has become dire and the atmosphere is basically none existent in the ground now. A crying shame of what we have become bud

Perez needs to be careful with his comments because Ashley’s greed could easily price him out of a move and we end up with a player in the dressing not wanting to be here with the crowd on his back.

    Jail @:29.

    Agreed.

I’ve never booed a Toon player in over 50 years of watching NUFC and I’ve seen players who weren’t fit to ;ace Perez’s boots.

IMO it is the worst form of ‘support’ to boo individual players – although I don’t agree I can understand booing the team, but never individual players.

Perez could never be accused of not trying and Dummett, I think it was, said his closing down of defenders was a hugely appreciated part of his game by the rest of the team.

Some fans always have to have a scapegoat and those that booed Perez’s sub against Brighton should be ashamed.
