News today that Valencia have already spoken with Ayoze Perez about moving to Valencia and Perez seems very open to joining one of Spain’s best clubs.
It’s five years since Perez joined us from Tenerife and last year was his very best season at Newcastle when he scored 13 goals for us and looked absolutely terrific at times.
His skill has never been doubted, but he has been inconsistent at Newcastle.
But this year he scored a lot of goals for us, and it seems that Rafa’s coaching was starting to get the best out of the Spaniard.
But there’s news in the Star today that Perez would be delighted to sign for Valencia and has told close friends he is open to the move.
Where Newcastle is in all of this but the club is drifting like a ship in the ocean with no direction known – to quote Bob Dylan.
Rafa Benitez congratulates Ayoze Perez after winning 3-2 against Everton
Ayoze scored two goals in the last 10 minutes to win the game for us
Here are some comments from Newcastle fans about the situation.
When are Newcastle going to wake up and do some work this summer?
Just a thought with only just over three weeks to go before players report back to training.
So then as it stands our squad is minus Rondon, Kennedy, Diame with the high possibility of losing Joselu, Perez and Hayden. Loads of work to be done just to keep us the same as last season. Make what you want if it but even Ashley isn’t that daft or is he? #nufc

Prepare for a long summer. Players like Schar, Dubravka, Perez, Lascelles and Ritchie will leave if no Rafa. But people still won’t boycott???????? #nufc

If the takeover doesn’t happen & Rafa stays with £60M to spend, it’ll feel like a loss compared to what could’ve been. But it’s enough to bring in 3 decent players & push on for a top 8 finish. Rondon, Gayle, Muto & Perez will suffice, just need a LB & CM if Hayden leaves #nufc
