Former Newcastle Defender Takes The Helm At Local Club

Gateshead FC have announced former Newcastle United centre-back Mike Williamson as their new head coach.

Below is a tweet with the announcement about the managerial appointment:

Mike Williamson played for Gateshead FC last season making thirty-one appearances in the National League and one in the FA Cup.

He joined Newcastle United on New Years Day 2010 from Portsmouth when we were in the midst of our successful promotion battle back to the Premier League.

Mike made 171 appearances for Newcastle before leaving to join Wolves in January of 2016.

We always thought of Williamson as a model professional who relished the opportunity to play for a club such as Newcastle.

He will have his work cut out for him at Gateshead as they have been through a bit of turmoil lately as explained in the Chronicle a few days ago.

Mike will begin his new reign in the National League North with Gateshead FC. We wish Mike and Gateshead the best of luck this coming season.

Do you rent out your Villas (plural as I’m sure you have a few) or is this just your weekend cottage.
Just passed Alnmouth on the train, not so warm I guess.

    No problem with OAPs

Jib makes out Spain is some fancy exotic location, its cheap cheerful and frequented by families and OAPs as it costs about £20 to get there.

You may as well go to South Shields on the ferry and stick £5 in the tanning beds

    What is a OAP?

I wouldn’t consider 65-70 as old, so why is it OAP?

If you say 75-80 maybe, definitely 85-90 that’s old, if you’ve reached pension age I’d say you should be proud.

In the “age” of labels I’d want the “OLD” taken out of OAP of I was one.

Jimiley@35 “work it out guys”: why don’t you take your own advice and apply some rational thought to the in-train sale of NUFC to the sheikh who neither of us has ever heard of before the Sun’s scoop? It doesn’t seem plausible all these alleged developments/announcements/proof of funds/companies disbanded/ companies set up are lies and fibs by named people, at least not to a normal “guy”. I can work out:
    (a) These developments have NEVER been reported before, Nor anything like them.
    (b) Other’s claims (admittedly not your own) that MA is “ pretending” to sell bear no relation to reality as he has issued no statement of any kind (as you would imagine, if a sale was actually in progress, as we are lead to believe (not by MA) is the case.
    (c) Every single thing announced is entirely in accordance with an actual ongoing sale
(d).Every silence is entirely in accordance with an actual ongoing sale, until the final agreement is total and signed.
Over to you to work this out.
