We reported yesterday that Rafa Benitez was seen back at the Benton Training grounds leaving a car and walking into the center.
Rafa didn’t do anything – no thumbs up or anything that positive.
Why he was back we have no idea, and Newcastle did what they think their new role is this summer – they issued a no comment to the Chronicle’s request for some information on why Rafa is back.
There’s some reason why he’s back at Newcastle.
It could be to sign the new contract that Mike Ashley has offered him.
For those counting, he has 20 days left on his Newcastle contract, and who would have ever thought it would get so close to the end of his current contract before Newcastle have signed him to an extension?
Rafa Benitez – he was in Newcastle yesterday
Here is the tweet from Robin Verhagen that shows Rafa is still alive and well.

But it could be a whole host of things, including a meeting with his staff on transfer targets.
As long as we don’t see him carting off large cardboard boxes of his things – we’ll be happy enough.
🙂
It really is a sad state of affairs away the Newcastle hierarchy have interfaced with the fans since the end of the season.
In some ways, it’s a complete disgrace and a dereliction of their duties.
We are hoping that Sheikh Khaled will buy the club, but if that doesn’t happen for a few weeks – we have no idea what will happen.
If Mike Ashley is true to form, it will be nothing.
Comments welcome.

Comment #1I’ll be more than happy for the sale to go through and never hear from Ashley again.
Be gone foul beast, leave these sacred lands and never return.

Comment #2So still nothing to see here except one poster running circles around another 😉
Anyway, it will all fall in place by the end of this month, I’m sure.

Comment #3Despite what people say about Ashley not caring what people think of him or not being ar$ed about reputation, if he manages to turn a PL club worth 350M with a top manager at the helm in to a Champo club worth less than half that with a chump like Pulis in charge in the space of a season then it surely has to have an affect on how people view him in the business world.

Comment #4It’s very interesting to come back to the blog
with a fresh eye.
Monday it went into over-drive (me included)
because a guy turned up at his place of work
after his holidays.
The latest theory put out by the wild – eyed Ashley
haters is that because Monochrome Acquisition has
the initials MA it’s some sort of weird trick being played
on the fans.
Ignoring the fact of the 2 directors and Pinsent Mason
setting the whole thing up.
Gotta love supporting the Toon – it’s a hell of a ride
