Newcastle Ship Still Adrift – No Direction Known – It’s Another Huge Insult To Our Fans

There are only 18 days left on Rafa’s contract and not much news in this last week or so on the Bin Zayed Group
takeover.

Is it a surprise that Newcastle fans are disgusted with the way the club is being run under Mike Ashley?

His dereliction of duty as a club owner is there for all to see.

There has been no real news from the club which just adds to speculation about what’s really happening.

Rafa met with Lee Charnley on Monday and Lee Charnley was at the training ground and Newcastle issued a statement – no comment.

We still have loads of work to do in the transfer window but have done nothing at all so far.

The way the hierarchy at Newcastle are managing the club this summer is an insult to Newcastle fans everywhere.

There can be no way back now for Mike Ashley.

Mike Ashley with his chief lieutenant (leftenant)

The sooner Ashley sells up and gets out of Toon – the better it will be for everybody associated with Newcastle United.

Then we can move forward.

I’ll stop there,

Here’s what some fans are saying about the stupid situation that has been created by Ashley, who seems to have no leadership or management skills at all.

No wonder he’s not well liked when he continues to behave like this.

Micky; do you know a bloke called Peter Redding? It would seem he has been doing some digging on BZG and been given the “no comment” treatment.

    Are we there yet? 😐

The banters gone as flat as a pie under a bus wheel and we are making our own Andy Carroll rumours. I feel for Ed & Son these are lean times indeed.

If there’s a sale in the offing they are taking a leisurely approach to concluding it all right. If everything was done and dusted the PR burst would be massive so if they were concluding the deal it would be straight out there. What’s the hold up? Ashley supposedly twisting the terms? Fit & Proper evaluation having a few pangs? More coincidental Middle East Holidays/Feasts/Fasts?

Another question see if anyone can justify this – why would a prospective buyer leak out announcements of a sale well in advance of anything being concluded? The effect it has had shows exactly why a level-headed and trustworthy future owner wouldn’t do this to their inherited customers. What was the reason for stirring up expectation and uncertainty?

There are a lot of them post on here
    That is
A certain section of NUFC supporters that have a unique
facility to be able to find things to whinge about.
At the moment it seems to be the “No comments”
    situation.
The irony is , the same folk normally whine about the
bullshit and PR coming from the Ashley camp.
    There’s no pleasing some folk

Ashley is giving me the impression of a rabbit caught in the headlights.
His SD business is falling well behind its rival JD Sports, his high street ‘empire’ is losing him money, he can’t get Rafa over the line for a new contract, he’s being out manoeuvred by the sheiks. I know he’s always been the great uncommunicator, but I’ve a feeling that he’s run out of ideas.

Trying to be positive, this is my theory; Rafa has a contract which he will sign if the takeover fails, but he’s expecting a takeover so he’s waiting to see what that brings. If they want him he will get a contract with better terms and if they don’t he will walk!
    Am I being naive?

Jib; It’s the fact the nobody at Newcastle United is prepared to go on the record about anything. It always a “source” or a “spokesperson.”
It’s shocking and now the “no comment” treatment. There aren’t any clear lines of communication between the supporters and the club, this totally unsatisfactory, yet you seem to think it is unreasonable for supporters to be unhappy with this position.

Novo, I don’t know him personally, but I do know of him, whether he has true access to BZG or not I haven’t a clue, (you need that cos if some random bloke, even from a radio station, called me up and asked me what was happening, then I’d be saying no comment too).

Not heard a thing here today, all quiet on the (Middle) Eastern front.

We are in a crossing the “t” and dotting the “i”‘s
scenario – when that involves selling a multi – million
pound British business to new oversea owners it
    cannot happen overnight.

The key person in this takeover isn’t Ashley, it’s Rafa.

I’ve said before, I’m sure BZG will have spoken to him, assured him they want him as manager and outlined their plans, which will have included a transfer budget.

Rafa almost confirmed that by what did say, and importantly didn’t say, in Liverpool the other day.

Behind the scenes Rafa will be talking to agents and getting players lined up, there will be far more going on on the transfer and sales front than meets the eye.

NUFC and Ashley are saying enough by not denying the takeover story and BZG’s statements.

If Ashley confirmed it and BZG pulled out (why is nobody mentioning that?!) all hell would break loose.

He’s far better saying nowt and leaving it to BZG and the FA to bring this to a conclusion.

Another theory being even more positive; he’s had the nod from the Sheik’s people that they want him to stay so hold on!
Or; he’s taking the piss out of Ashley and will walk end of June and who could blame him? Nah, he wouldn’t do that as it would hurt the fans!
Jib; a half decent owner would give the fans an update without breaching the NDA ! He’s pathetic!

It’s my understanding that the EU leagues don’t open their transfer window until the first of July. Does anyone know if this is true?

And, out of interest, where can you read an upto date list of this transfer window’s transactions?

It might be reassuring to gauge our recruitment progress. (zilch!) with our fellow Premiership rival’s. I don’t think there has been much horse trading so far…

If this takeover doesn’t happen now, Ashley is gonna be ridiculed by the media. I know he’s a thick skinned pr1ck but surely he will lose credibility after previous failures in selling the club! For us though; nightmare!

    Jib.

The point is that JD Sports is significantly outperforming SD.
The Ashley flagship company is doing so badly against its biggest rival, and his small 19% share holding will small comfort up against his underperforming in the very market where he made his name.
