BZG Have Released Statement Through Capital Radio UAE’s Peter Redding

Peter Redding has just sent out the following tweets which he claims is a statement from BZG to Newcastle United fans.

These are the tweets that have been sent:

We sense there may be more coming from Peter but what he has laid out is somewhat encouraging. That is unless of course there is a big “but” on the way.

If these tweets are in fact accurate, we can glean that both parties are interested in a sale. They state that the current owners have cooperated amicably throughout the process.

The big statement is that if a deal is not forthcoming it will not be due to lack of effort from both parties. It appears to us that unless something happens that is outside the control of Mike Ashley and BZG then this may be happening.

They also claim they have completed every aspect of the takeover process. While this is not an official statement derives from a meeting Peter has apparently had with BZG, this has to be seen as positive news.

We wonder if this is the extent of the pending statement that Peter had spoken of last week, or if an official statement is still forthcoming.

We have yet to hear from Mike Ashley or Newcastle United at the moment, and that could be where the potential pitfalls lie.

The statement has just confused things even more, if everything has been approved it sounds like they have pushed it onto Ashley to say make your mind up stop moving the goalposts.

Are they not implying that they’re still awaiting Premier League approval? That’s how it reads to me. Regardless it’s a bizarre statement to release at this stage of the game

the plane tracked from far east to Newcastle and then to london is leaving for Boston at 10:50 this morning. If it is connected with the takeover then for me any announcement will be negative.
I really do believe that Ashley has rolled us over once again

Are they gonna blame it on the fans? “We couldn’t complete because our proposal was based on 38k season ticket holders and sell out attendances. Therefore our business model is no longer viable.”

Sounds like a tactic Ashley would use to pass blame to us.

Well, what it does tell us is that everything, bar possibly the FA/premier league approval, is in place. So we should hear something more soon, and we can stop listening to to the paper bollix. Blackcloud’s last tweet on the subject, July 5th, said “Everything is agreed apart from the money being deposited.”

My feeling is that this statement can be summarized as ….its crunch time!!

Its one of a few things in my opinion not an itk…

    1. Ashley stop moving the goal posts and authorise the sale which is my best guess.

    2. Premier league stop messing about and authorise it.

    3. Ashley is holding up the sake despite everything in place in order to give his mate peter Kenyon time to find the money to bid thus allowing him to keep advertising and merchandising himself

    4. Ashley has no intention of selling and is stalling until the window closes

    5. Aliens have landed…

I may be reading into this too far, but what I get from the statement is that potentially it is a 3rd party delaying everything (maybe the Premier league)

I have been on the optimistic side of the takeover bid through out and want to believe it is true, so that might be why I’m getting this vibe.

The general statement on twitter is –

    1. Waiting on premier league approval
    2. Failed the owners test

I can’t see it being the latter, i mean surely the only issue would the possible connection to the City owners but i am sure someone like Pinsent Mason could find a loop hole around that that.

Maybe this is what Midhat suggested when he said “it will happen in a different way”

Its just more standard smoke and mirrors PR , i think most intelligent Newcastle fans know by now Ashley has no intention of selling Newcastle as long as we are in the premier league and making him a huge profit, even if someone was serious about buying our club, it wont happen as Ashley is only stringing us along with false and fake speculation every season about a takeover, but thank God the penny has dropped and most sane and intelligent fans realise now its all bullshit. HWTL.

Doubt a small radio station will be located in same building as a large multi national … could be wrong though. Just can’t see why they would use a 3rd party especially such a small one. I smell bull $hite I’ve asked him on twatter if anyone else was at meeting to corroborate he’s not full of it … bet there wasn’t.

I think option three seems most likely
Has nothing to do with taking the club forward ash wants Kenyon in so he has more chance to keep his claws in .
It is never about selling to someone who can take the club forward as he stated .
I said so when Perez went for 30 mil
From memory I think Kenyon was around 100 short
Sadly I think Longstaff and gale will give him the hundred back and Kenyon takes us .
Just hope to hell I am wrong on this

Well, being optimistic didn’t last very long.

Seems like if this statement is true they are trying to save face with themselves and Ashley.

Why are they defending Ashley before the inevitable? It looks like they were pawns after all. Knowing our luck Ashley and Midhat are best mates.

Just re-read the statement and one thing that stands out –

“We have completed every aspect required in a takeover process”

Fit and proper test would be one aspect which means they have completed. This is all down to Ashlie.

Deal agreed but hes moved the goal posts to suit him, if it doesn’t happen its because of Ashlie and no one else, BZG just being polite here?

In regards to Chopper watch, Sheikh lived and studied in Boston, has he given Ashlie a deadline to agree to it? If that plane comes back to England this could be a very good sign.

Well all I’ll say is that the statement is defo from BZG. To me it looks like a final throw of the dice, BZG basically saying, “Ball is in your court, everything is done as you (ashLIE) have wanted, so sign it off or we’ll foxtrot oscar”.

Redding would not dare say the statement came from BZG if he wasn’t authorised by them to say it. It’s a fine of up to a million quid and 5 years in jail here for lying about that sort of stuff here.

People saying they must be waiting on premier league approval,, it doesnt take this long with the times they gave us. Total joke, we will here nothing for weeks now and the season starts next month. *facepalm*
