Odds Shorten On Steve Bruce As Next Newcastle United Manager As Newcastle Interest Is Reported

The Shields Gazette have noticed that Sheffield Wednesday manager Steve Bruce is now a favorite to become the next Newcastle manager according to some bookies.

This is what they have reported:

The former Sunderland boss is 4/1 on with Sky Bet, 13/8 with Betfair and 15/8 with Paddy Power.

Sky Sports have also just reported that Newcastle are in fact considering Steve Bruce.

The 59-year-old boyhood Toon fan has done the coaching carousel in English Football since he first became manager of Sheffield United in 1998. He has managed 9 different teams in 10 spells having managed Wigan Athletic in 2001 and then again from 2007-2009.

He last coached in the top flight in 2015 when his Hull City side were relegated. He has then had an unsuccessful spell at Aston Villa where he failed to get them promoted prior to joining Sheffield Wednesday.

Bruce was also the manager of Sunderland from 2009-2011 but had his longest term at Birmingham City from 2001 to 2007.

Steve Bruce– with Alan Shearer

In the Premier League, the former Manchester United skipper has quite a poor record. His points per match average is just 1.1 and he has a win percentage of only 28.

We did a report yesterday about how Mike Ashley only hires unattached managers or promotes from within. Bruce joined Sheffield Wednesday just this past February and did quite well. So, hopefully, they will want to keep hold of him.

Here In The City also noticed yesterday that Steve’s son Alex has started to follow Newcastle United on Instagram. So let’s hope that is just a coincidence.

For Bruce to even be considered is a clear indication that there is no takeover. I dont get all the clamour for information, in a week or 2 it’ll become crystal clear that the club remains unsold and a few weeks later 52k turn up for arsenal

    Normal service will resume!!

    Steve Bruce as manager.

I say we take off and nuke the entire club from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

Lads do yourselves a favour and go offline and stay offline until you see something in the paper or from the club. This has gotten way out of hand the misinformation is rampant. I have never seen anything like it in my life. I got caught up with the blog and must have read 8 tweets from what are clearly false accounts. It’s absurd

The guys i mentioned on an earlier post will like this – the enemies of NUFC – The Ex place chairman and co – we can now have “one of our own” and we can stop slagging off londoners / southerners cos we hate them dont we ( Rob Lee, Supermac, Barton, Les Ferdinand and Co ) . And he has managed a big club like Villa so …..and of course he will get us promoted . Marvellous, splendid work Fats !

I also agree with Mark, can we stop with the twitter nonsense, honestly who searches for information on twitter and believes it to be credible?

I’ve got a twitter account and can start a rumour in no time. Sheer desperation, accept the fact we arent getting sold, many have been sold the lie and believed it AGAIN.

Time for change, both in ownership and mindset of fans, stop falling for the same nonsense just before and during the transfer window, twice a year the same trick is played……wake the fcuk up.

52k will still turn up though for arsenal game!! We wonder why nothing changes though

We are our own biggest enemy, it’s so sad but so true, from a business perspective Ashley bought the perfect club, knowing fine well the overwhelming love for the club would outweigh anything he does as owner.

I refuse to believe Bruce is incoming as manager.

I’ve been saying for over a season now that it will be Moyes and genuinely see him as perfect for Ashley. However when Rafa went, the reports were that a new manager could only bring in one staff member with them so kind of rules him out as he has at least 2/3 he takes with him.

Not sure why I care, whoever it’ll be is going to be horrendous.

Can you lot not remember the fake midhat Twitter account where it turned out to be mackems playing a game, they changed the picture back to some dead guys obituary picture and then said it was a reddit anonymous trick.

These accounts were clearly fake. Blue ticks on Twitter are important, some actual journalists from the north east don’t have them because they use the accounts as personal accounts, but it’s easy to tell which are real and which are fake in my opinion.

Ashley’s private jet took off from London, currently flying over France, destination unknown. One for the plane watch crew. Let’s hope it doesn’t land in Portugal!

Jet Linx Aviation LLC 280 just left Boston Airport on it’s way to Farnborough.

Farnborough is a private airport and as far as I can see it’s the only scheduled arrival there today.

Scheduled to arrive at 8pm tonight, Dubs keep an eye out for any chopper activity in the vicinity!!

Haven’t been able to keep up with the blog lately
so It’s probably already been discussed, but I
was thinking that the PL, FA, Skysports or whoever
controls the show won’t fancy NUFC being top of the premier league
with 2 Manchester teams, bin dippers and maybe a team such as Leicester next.
The possibility of no London teams in the top 5 will not appeal to them.

anyone who takes this job is in for a hell of a rough ride, and people within the game now the problems that will come with the job not least following in Rafa’s footsteps, never mind the thought of working for Ashley, and the backlash that will inevitability come from the fans,
I think these 3 factors are playing a big part in so many of so our called targets quickly distancing themselves from the job,

The big question has got to be whether Ashley’s actively trying to recruit a manager/ head coach such as Bruce who’s currently employed.

If he is, then surely that says that he’s not received an offer he’d accept and therefore not trying to seal an agreement with BZG – not selling the club. The man is a complete and utter barsteward!

Asset stripping the club when it’s a huge investment shows to me he’s selling the club, surely he would keep a hold of good players to secure prem survival next season, he’s clearly not bothered about that with his current deals within Newcastle, so this surely means it’s good news and the sale is taking time, or… He’s a complete maniac who loves to infuriate the fans whilst costing himself hundreds of millions In the process….

Ashley is a businessman and he knows know the full risks of how premier League certainly isn’t a given. So I honestly think this sale is going through, have faith lads…
