Newcastle Linked To Juventus Player Looking For Exit

According to a report in Corriere dello Sport detailed by Sport Witness, Newcastle are now looking at Juventus shot stopper Mattia Perin as competition for Martin Dubravka. It was just earlier this year that Martin Dubravka was said to be a target of the Turin club.

Mattia Perin joined Juventus last July for €12.3M from the club he had been with since he was just 16, Genoa CFC.

Perin was brought in to replace Italian goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon who had just departed on a free to join PSG. Well, last week Buffon returned to Juve after just one year in Paris.

There has been many links for Perin this summer due to his limited playing time in Turin last season. Perin was expected to battle ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny for the number one spot. However, Szczesny was looking to claim the number one spot for himself after spending the previous season as Buffon’s understudy.

The former Arsenal goalkeeper did just that and had the best season of his career for the Serie A champions. His form left minimal opportunities for Perin, who managed only 9 starts before his season ended in April with a shoulder injury.

Mattia Perin– Yes, Newcastle are interested

The report from Italy is claiming that Newcastle are looking at Perin due to the reported high fee for Lazio keeper Thomas Strakosha. The Albanian international is valued between €40-50m by his club. A fee which Newcastle certainly would not pay.

Perin would be much more economical as he was bought by Juventus for just €12m last summer. The fee for Perin would not be the issue for Newcastle.

The issue is going to be the quality of the clubs that are also interested in the twice capped Italian. In May, Roma were said to be preparing a bid but that interest has appeared to die out.

This week, though, it is Porto who are very heavily linked with interest in the keeper as well as the aforementioned Lazio, but only as a replacement if Strakosha were to leave.

The report in Corriere dello Sport list Sevilla, Benfica, and Fiorentina with ties to the player.

With the current situation on Tyneside, you would have to question Newcastle’s ability to attract any players at the moment. Especially one that could have as many options as Perin.

It is a shame though, for the price Perin would be the perfect player to push Martin Dubravka at Newcastle.

I will follow Newcastle United until the day I die!

It may be painful and the way it’s going it could be very painful and we may end up where Sunderland are now but NUFC have been in my blood since I was 12 years old & I’m not giving up because of The Fat Shopkeeper or anyone else!

Ok, so I’m a fan of NUFC, I’m also a football manager at other clubs, no mater what I’m still a fan of my home town club.
I can see what the owner is doing to my club, as a fan I’m pissed off that he let Rafa go, I’m pissed off that he takes money out of the club and I’m pissed off that he has no relationship with the fans.
So Mr Bruce, as a fan would you really take the job?
On principals alone I would hope that the answer was no, on actions alone from this parasite of an owner and what he is doing at our club the answer should be no.
Steve don’t do it, stay a fan, stay a Geordie, stay away from a nightmare you will not be able to manage.

Gerrard – no thanks – Scouser thug.
Still remember that incident in the bar when he and his “back up” approached a bloke sitting at the bar. Gerrard did a blind side punch in the blokes face. Clear assault.
Yet weirdly Gerrard got off with it at the Crown Court. Scum.

That is a very good point. What true Newcastle fan would take the job under this regime. In fact any true Newcastle fan would come out and say my heart says do it but my head says run a mile.
No true Newcastle fan would ever work for Ashley after what he has done to us.

What has Steve Bruce done to deserve the Newcastle job, other than be from up here? This would be a disaster. Add a couple of more player sales and it has been a great summer for fat lad Ashley!

It’s as if Ash chose a list of things he could do to absolutely p–s off NUFC fans. Fakeover, make Rafa lose patience ad then someone on the absolute bottom of the pile in Bruce. Good fit for NUFC – my a–e!!

Why do to–ers like Jordan get so much air time re – NUFC

So after all the dust settles in will all turn out that Ashley has once AGAIN during a transfer window pretended he wants to sell, and once again a good chunk of us believed him! Thinking he wouldnt dare do this again, sad thing is there will still be 50 thousand every home game, i wont be one,, its difficult and unfair because its one of my great pleasures being taken away, but this simply can not go on, i have geniunly never hated someone as much as i have Ashley, i genuinly would like to make him suffer, because the greedy compulive lieng narcissist doesnt even blink an eye at what he is doing to all of us, he thinks it his club i can do what i like. He wont give it up because it funds all his other projects.

Rafas comments about having more meetings with the hierarchy of his new club in the last week than he did with the Toon hierarchy in three years tells it all you need to know.

If Tubbs and Charnley treated the manged like this what do you expect their liason with the fans to be.
You see evidence of the arrogance and disdainful treatment of fans at the Fans Forum.
Ashleys comments about only wanting to sell to someone who will take the club forward – pure lies.

Interested bosses would be ringing up the manager regularly to see what was happening/updates etc.
Statements about him being a real fan – rubbish.

Tubbs and Junior Tubbs are complicit in their treatment of the fans.

Let us recap the crap that has taken place over the last few weeks –

    season ticket prices up
    Rafa binned off
    Most expensive kit
    Perez sold
    Longstaff rumoured to be sold
    Bruce taking over

Could all of the above be a ploy by ashlie/Bishop just to get at the fans as a parting shot before he rides off in the sunset.

No extension on the season ticket renewals either, surely if he was sticking around he’d be extending that for as long as possible.

Until an announcement is made, something is still going on, believe.

Press Association, which are more or less the only trustworthy, non-gossip source of info, say talks are “ongoing” and it’s “complicating” the manager process.

I think Bruce is there as backup for when the takeover falls through. This will probably happen by around Friday and Bruce will be announced before they go to China. One press release will say an agreement couldn’t be reached, another will welcome “geordie and lifelong Toon fan” Bruce to the club, and that’s all we will see or hear for the foreseeable.

Anybody who thinks this is Newcastle United Football Club and therefore must be supported is a headcase. NUFC ceased operations in 2008. One day the club will be back. I still support the club that died in 2008, and I’ll support the one that comes back to life. But this period, with that THING in charge? This isn’t my club and I will NOT be supporting it in any way, shape or form.

i really really hope i am wrong but this drip feeding of attempts for managers smells of nufc spin doctors trying to diffuse and lessen effect of a takeover collapse…i am expecting statements along the lines of

despite agreeing further time for buying group to complete deal it has become evident that they cannot meet terms of purchase so nufc have no alternative but to end takeover bid…
we must now put all our efforts me and nix into getting a top top coach in and give him a massive transfer budget (one that benitez rejected because he had agreed a different path)…
mike has agreed to give sd mug to every new shirt purchased (collection only t&c apply) and also reluctantly accepted to extend season ticket renewal deadline….

bzg have now accepted it isn,t possible to agree terms with nufc ..it would be easier to catch the desert breeze or stop the movement of the whispering sands…we wish all nufc supporters the best of luck….

i hope this isnt the case …the longer this drags on the more fans will accept the inevitable….the sign that doubtfire is on way would be bookies stopping bets on all candidates .

    REPOST:

Carroll, Cabaye, Townsend, Wijnaldum, Sissoko, Mitrovic and Perez..
In 8 years they have alone given a PLUS of 180 mil in transfers. THAT´S 180.000.000 pounds!!!
In those 8 years only one players has been brought in for a fee as high, as those above.. Almiron for 20 mil.
I wonder why nobody in the world of football is noticing or give a shit of where the money has gone..
Why do Skysports etc. not run stories weekly about it? By god there is plenty to write about!!!

Ashley has received a lot of tv money for many years, ON THE CLUBS BEHALF!!
Ashley has made it clear, that player salaries have stood still in many years at the club.
Ashley has had free advertising for his shitty company, all over the ground, ON THE CLUBS BEHALF!!
An estimate is that he has taken 700.000.000 pounds out of this club. WHERE HAS THE MONEY GONE?
    It simply doesn´t add up!

Gone are the days of Keegan and the entertainers..
Gone are the days of Sir Bobby Robson, one of the greatest personalities in the history of football..
Gone are the days of hope with Rafa, one of the most respected gentlemen in this game.

Been a fan of this, once great football club, since 1992..
But i am gone as well, as long Ashley is still here stealing from the club.

Morinho to Sheff Wed? Why not – it’s a club that’s there to be developed by an enterprising new owner.

However, why would Bruce move to NUFC? Yes, it may be his home town club but he’d surely know of Ashley’s behaviour and preferred model. Would he be daft enough to take the risk? Surely he’d be safer staying where he his.

Ah, but when Charmless, who should’ve been sacked for misjudging Rafa’s intentions, shows Brucelosis the plans for the training centre and presents Ashley’s plans to build the club into one of Europe’s best, well who knows what might happen.

The way the club is run is alien to english fans but on the continent it’s a familiar feel. Arteta needs to learn somewhere, he’d of got a free pass if he failed here as the owner would rightly be blamed.

Vieira is in charge of selling club at the minute, not much difference to how we are run and Nice, all I’m saying is rafa shouldn’t be putting young managers off the the job. Its detrimental to the fans in my opinion as the only way ashley sells is with us in the PL not out of it
