Sky Sports Reporter Gives Newcastle Fans Some Rare Positive News

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has tweeted out the following information which if true is excellent news for Newcastle fans.

This is very positive though Kaveh does state that Newcastle won’t confirm that talks took place. But we like the sound of “Newcastle categorically not interested in selling Longstaff”.

This is the exact stance that Newcastle should be taking on the young Geordie. Newcastle do not need to be a selling club anymore. The television revenue is more than enough to keep this club going while providing a healthy transfer budget year in and year out.

The problem is that Mike Ashley does not invest this money in the squad or facilities. This is why we are about to go from Rafa Benitez to Steve Bruce.

Sean Longstaff– needs to remain at the club

With Isaac Hayden likely to leave, allowing Longstaff to leave would further put the squad in peril. That is without even considering the emotional impact of allowing such a promising local lad to leave after only a stretch of games in a Newcastle shirt.

With the squad so drastically short in attacking areas as well as lacking quality at full-back, those will be the areas Newcastle will have to concentrate on this transfer window.

Depleting the midfield as well this close to the start of the season would be suicidal. Mike Ashley may not even be that reckless. Though we never thought he would let Rafa walk away either.

Tsunki #145, fair point, agreed if Ashley appoints a truly dreadful manager it will galvanise the fans even more strongly. I think we’re slightly talking at cross purposes, I really meant it was irrelevant to the success of the club on the pitch going forward, Ashley’s influence will put the brakes on even if we had Pep / Klopp / Mourinho in charge.

Well said Tsunki @149. Rafa was out of the loop (actually I don’t think he was ever in) long ago. He was tolerated because he kept us up, but once he wouldn’t re-sign they were in a complete pickle. Incompetence can’t produce a decent manager and that’s all Ashley has. Twelve years of ownership incompetence. Horrible mess now.

Still cannot believe on the official sight they use the slogan …”WE ARE UNITED”
Looking at things on there is like watching the Truman show where they are operating in a parallel universe with actors going about their business wearing pastel shaded slack and smiling.
Next we will have reports (Pyongyang style) “that today our beloved leaders mike and lee took all the happy players on a golf day where both lee and mike scored 18 wholes in one ..again ,all players saying how much inspiration spending a day with these luminary’s gives them as they look forward to breaking records again this season.”

I imagine Steve Bruce will agonize over taking the Newcastle job , he will think , this is my last chance , a dream, an ambition to manage my hometown club .

At his age .. his last knockings as a Football manager.

He will know that the owner shows no respect for the supporters or any Manager that has come and gone .

What a decision to make especially when Alan Shearer will have brought him up to speed on Ashleys contempt for the fans and the club as a Football entity, going concern, on the pitch .

With Steve’s Knowledge of the above, if he takes the job, it will only be for selfish reasons .

My advice Steve, if what we read is true and you have been offered the job, dont take it !

Do yourself and your mental health and the strain on your family a massive favour ..I mean , do you need serious mental anguish and torture coming from a game you love ? Because thats what your facing .

Ashley will never ever give you the funds to compete out there on the green stuff.
And dont think you might get lucky or work a miracle ..you won’t

Ashley , sure as night follow’ s day, WILL shaft you ..guaranteed 100%

And the fans who will respect you as a Man, do not want you as the Manager.

Your Ashleys yes man in their eyes.

Don’t let your big Geordie heart rule your head .

The pressure is mounting on Ashley. No manager, few coaches, no trust to call on, no decent advisers. He’s totally isolated. I wonder where he sees this ending up this summer? I can’t get my head around it. There doesn’t seem to be a way forward for him at all now,

A list of companies that the parasite owns or has shares in.

Target every one of them on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc. Give priority to the companies that he doesn’t own 100% as the other shareholders will then suffer and are likely to put pressure on him to sell the club.

So with that theory in mind i am throwing my weight behind this
    BRING BACK PARDEW AND DENIS
I think some would not only boycott the club ,serious consideration would be given to burning it to the ground .
Would also solve the ongoing boredom of how to make the east stand look a bit less shit compared to the rest of the stadia
    Brilliant

I think they’ll bring in someone on a year’s deal and give them money to spend. Allardyce or Rainieri would fit Ashley’s bill, but they may struggle to find someone of even that standard, and they’ll have to offer a really decent wedge to get them to come. Ashley needs to get one of these three bidders up and over the line sometime between now and this time next year, or it will become a completely untenable mess for him. It’s important he always have an avenue to sell, and as things stand he still has it, but there is very little prospect at all of him being able to hold on to the club beyond another season, as a viable EPL entity.

G2, I have to say I’m absolutely stunned by the lack of care which has been shown to our club. This is what happens when you have a single officer with no experience of running a football club. Day-to-day operations are fine, but when a crisis hits, there’s no ability to react.

If we had a true board, they would have assessed the risks, made provisions to handle them and had a recovery plan in place.

Not our lot, we have Charmless with his floral tea pot and his packet of slightly stale digestives.

Incompetence of the highest (or lowest) order.

I applaud Rafa for his integrity and foresight in walking away. He knew he and his team was the glue holding the place together and he knew by walking away the club would fall apart.

By illustrating this, I hope he’s shown Ashley just what a fractured mess he has on his hands and that he doesn’t have the will to put it back together. At that point, he’ll have no option to sell.

    Well said Online Guy.

I do think Agent Bruce might think twice about the job.

I said last week that Ashley and Wise would approach Fat Sam, no insider knowledge, just an educated guess.

Ashley follows familiar patterns and is predictable in his treatment of the club.

The next name in the patsy/dinosaur manager merry go round will be Alex Mcleish.

Protests can hopefully can be organised throughout pre season to ramp up the pressure

I think the timing of the bids has been a problem for the sale of the club. You have to have all your ducks in a row from the moment we are safe, then go, and get it done no later than midway through the window to give yourself a workable transition in terms of manager and reshaping. I think they wanted Rafa on a one year extension, on the same money, with 60 mill plus outgoings transfer budget, to help with a sale, but he’s quite reasonably said no, and bizarrely surprisingly to the owner, so now they are scraping around for someone who’ll say yes, and the clock is ticking loudly.

So BZG sent cryptic shit message saying they and ashley had done everything in their power to get the deal done and that if it didnt get done it would be no fault of either party. What does that mean?
It must be that some other party is stopping it. Maybe its the premier league.
Midhat said prior to that, the deal is still going ahead but in a different way. What does that mean?
All I can think is that Premier League have blocked them and they are trying to find a solution. If thats the case it is going to take longer and therefore we have the manager problem and not long left of transfer window. This is a massive problem as no time means being forced to get in a person BZG wont want long term and make singings that we may not want either. That will once again reflect on the price and the whole thing will need negotiating again. But once again with the threat of relegation. Which once again means no deal until next Summer on the lucky chance we stay up.

Strangely enough Jimmy Mullen a mate of mine ..captained them and Managed the Owls for a short time in the 70s.

He played against Pele and Pele give him his tracksuit and his shirt (Santos) Brazil.

Jimmy ran out in front of his Grandfather at Roker park when he first broke into the Sheff Wed team ..Grandfather cried buckets. Jimmy was like a hound around your ankles.

Well at nearly 80 years of age and over 70 years of supporting, (been there done that got the thrill of been passed from the back to the front over heads at the Leazes end, got my 6p bag of peanuts, followed by a season tickets for the centre paddock when they were introduced, and then a season ticket when the East Stand was built – which I still have), I am so unproud to say that NUFC have finally broken my resolve to follow them through thick and thin.

Mike Ashley you are a disgrace to be linked to our proud region, you have manipulated folks for so long now, do you care – not one jot do you. there was a guy just like you around just after I was borne and that is honestly the comparison I make, I hope you are pleased with the atmosphere in our little bit of Britain, that you have created, please note I have removed the ‘Great’ because as long as there is folks like you around it should not be used.

Where the FA and PL are when they should and must observe what is happening at NUFC beggars believe, suppose if you really needed the money you might think differently Mr Ashley, but you are a playboy and you are using us as your ‘chips’, not any more you ain’t – BYE

PS, my young nephew is off to China this weekend to follow NUFC, that’s what you call a supporter – what do you call yourself.?
