Peter Redding has sent out another tweet but this time in response to the messages he has been receiving from Newcastle United supporters.
This is what Peter has tweeted this morning.
I report on what is happening in Dubai and BZG. There is no update currently. The focus should be on comms from MA and NUFC. But thanks for all of your messages (most of them :))
— Peter Redding-Capital Radio UAE (@dubai_geordie) July 11, 2019
From this comment, we gather that the statement Peter gave on Monday from the Bin Zayed Group is the only one that is coming.
There were reports of a drafted statement from BZG and we had hoped that Peter’s earlier tweet was just a precursor to an official statement.
That does not appear to be the case and it looks like BZG do not have plans for any further statements at the moment.
The Hierarchy– doom and gloom
It is interesting that Redding does try to shift the focus for communication on the takeover to Mike Ashley and away from BZG.
We would have two takeaways from what Peter has tweeted.
First, it appears as though the Bin Zayed Group are very frustrated with Mike Ashley. Maybe they expected some sort of a response from him after Monday’s statement.
Second, if they are waiting for Mike Ashley to communicate and if any part of the next process hinges on him, this takeover may have in fact stalled.
Though with news this morning that Steve Bruce may be announced in the coming days as the next manager of the club, the likelihood of a takeover anytime soon was looking remote.
We still have nothing from the club on anything of significance. Nothing on the proposed takeover, no updates on the manager search, and no updates transfer meetings.
Nothing. So we will not hold our breath while waiting for anything from Mike Ashley.

Comment #1Repost:
A few guys touched on this last night…but why did LC & Co go on a European tour to find a manager if they’d already hand picked Bruce or approached Big Sam?? Something doesnt add up!!
To the lads saying they’ll support Bruce; how will this help? IMO thats supporting the regime as it is.
Would there be a boycott if there was no takeover but Rafa had stayed? The media reporting has no clarity, but I’m starting to think there’s not much among the fans either :/

Steve Bruce appointment now imminent at #nufc. Details to be worked out with #swfc but he’s heading to SJP.
Could even be in before trip to China. Walking into a firestorm at #NUFC, which he surely knows.

Please explain to me your thinking behind the statement “he is more likely to sell us in the pl”. The PL where Ashley can enjoy some of the highest television payments of any league in the world. Where it has become so lucrative clubs can buy players for the price of a championship club, where he can have his shop advertised to hundreds of millions for free every week?
That just makes no sense

Comment #7Cabbage head will get a rough ride from day one.. the club is about to come crumbling down and this could be the moment it happens
Not one person is happy about this… I have never been an advocate of anything illegal but I think constant large scale pitch invasions!
Not 1 or 2 people but large scale in the 1000s… Get games abandoned, get Jabba fined!!
He wants war let’s give it to him

And as another silver lining, there’s a direct correlation between how much of a shithouse manager you are and how much money you get to spend. So judging by this possible apppointment, Ashley’s about to release Mbappe money to the old warchest.

I’ve no issues with him telling both that they’ll have constraints but it’s also a free hit for both, they do a bad job it’ll be rightly be Ashley’s fault as he doesn’t invest amongst many other things.
They keep us up it’s a stepping stone to something bigger and better, a good place to learn the trade but an awful place to think you can forge a career or change the mindset of the owner

Because relegation will wipe off 200m if not more in regards to worth of club, it’s a more attractive proposition in the PL than in championship. Unlike most other clubs we dont own our home ground SJP
Most other assets Ashley has done with around the ground so he’ll make a loss in selling if in championship which is why he always invests when relegated or invest to prevent relegation.

Comment #14OK got to post this again you lot seem to have blinkers on, forget about the next manager there’s now’t you can do about it it’s the next step you should be concentrating on.
The sponsor of NUFC want to show their logo throughout the UK that’s why they pay big bucks. Now when they switch on and see the company they pay to advertise, showing another sponsor then all hell breaks loose they may even cancel, problems for Micky boy. OK
Sounds crazy but pick a team shirt any team in premier along with there advertising logo buy the copies wear it to all games. you’re going to get the crazies crying wolf but hey ho can you think of anything better to bug this sh8t house owner.

Comment #16Poor decision from Bruce to take the job, he is on a non starter with the fans and after a few losses will be hounded – he should have stayed at SWFC where he was actually liked by the fans – he’ll be an Ashley puppet but what does he care – he’s manure through and through despite him proclaiming he’s a geordie and always supported the toon – remember him running down touchline celebrating when Sunderland scored against us!

Comment #19That’s a great idea to get games abandoned and get him fined.
We could all peacefully walk on to the pitch in our thousands and sit down until the match gets abandoned. Omg how incredible would this look to the public.

I am not that against him, we have had worse – Steve Harper rates him very highly indeed.
What worries me is the conditions Fat Sam turned down, but Bruce will accept.

Overall managerial win percentage:
Steve Bruce – 38.5%
Rafael Benítez – 49.8%
Steve McClaren – 44.2%
Alan Pardew – 41.4%
Chris Hughton – 40.6%

Comment #28I have no gripe against Steve Bruce. Good on him for giving it a go knowing that he is probably going to be subjected to 52000 lots of abuse when the first goal against us is scored (this is presuming the stadium isn’t empty and I hope it is empty!). I wish him all the best and to be honest I have no expectations in regards to him – it’s irrelevant. It doesn’t matter what manager takes over as nobody can live up to Rafa’s legacy under this regime and with these restrictions in place and whoever takes over as manager is walking into a relegation a proverbial sh*tstorm.
The problem I have is with the club. The players and whatever new manager are not the subject of my angst – they are and will be as much a victim of this club as us supporters. The club obviously couldn’t get anyone better because they have no idea what they are doing. Charnley has flown under the radar for too long now and is incompetent in all aspects or running the place.
It appears all decent managers have rejected our approaches and we are the only club not to have bought anybody despite selling our top goal scorer for $30m. Our top scoring player is a center half and we are the only club not to have signed anybody. We have far bigger problems at the moment than the appointment of Steve Bruce.

Crazy to think based on fan base and size how much less ambition and quality we have compared to these other clubs
Imagine having Fraser, Wilson, King as our front three with Howe as manager, would be a dream compared to what we are looking at now
