Capital Radio UAE’s Peter Redding Shifts Focus To Mike Ashley

Peter Redding has sent out another tweet but this time in response to the messages he has been receiving from Newcastle United supporters.

This is what Peter has tweeted this morning.

From this comment, we gather that the statement Peter gave on Monday from the Bin Zayed Group is the only one that is coming.

There were reports of a drafted statement from BZG and we had hoped that Peter’s earlier tweet was just a precursor to an official statement.

That does not appear to be the case and it looks like BZG do not have plans for any further statements at the moment.

The Hierarchy– doom and gloom

It is interesting that Redding does try to shift the focus for communication on the takeover to Mike Ashley and away from BZG.

We would have two takeaways from what Peter has tweeted.

First, it appears as though the Bin Zayed Group are very frustrated with Mike Ashley. Maybe they expected some sort of a response from him after Monday’s statement.

Second, if they are waiting for Mike Ashley to communicate and if any part of the next process hinges on him, this takeover may have in fact stalled.

Though with news this morning that Steve Bruce may be announced in the coming days as the next manager of the club, the likelihood of a takeover anytime soon was looking remote.

We still have nothing from the club on anything of significance. Nothing on the proposed takeover, no updates on the manager search, and no updates transfer meetings.

Nothing. So we will not hold our breath while waiting for anything from Mike Ashley.

Munster, Steve Bruce was my most detested footballing person before this, I have many times been sarky over boycotts and the like but this man Bruce and his mackem/manc Connections, NUFC snide remarks he made concerning our fans, I said the other day Shearer refused to wear a Sunderland or man utd shirt even for charity, Bruce went a million miles the other way.
Time for the beefman to take his stance, if its Bruce, NO TRUCE.

well we are trouble now….you have to think bzg were genuine but unable to get cashlie to sell ….now we are in for battle of a season …my view as always is to support the team the club and the manager …..but ashlie charnlie are of limits as well as all sd shops ….it could well be a defining season for cashlie as a championship club will half his investments ….my own feeling is that cashlie and sd are on the slide and cannot see any hiding place for him.
can you imagine the dogs abuse charnlie will get around toon if he ever dares to go out…can also see big al asking for support for brucie …can also see andy carrol back .. .

They’ll accept anyone that sends a brown paper bag their way….

Just look at their request from clubs to donate $250 000 to Peter Scudamore when he retired

I’d be interested to know how many other PL clubs are broken up into 30+ entities

The majority of them were incorporated 21 January 1997 by SJH when he floated
    NUFC on the stock market.

Fair comment….I’m not saying I’m right and everyone else is wrong.
However, I would say that any company who is potentially in the process of being taken over will run ‘business as usual’ .
And let’s face it, business as usual with NUFC is a complete catastrophe…..joking aside the business has to run as if nothing is going to change (we could afford to do nothing in June as it’s a dead month), but now, regardless of what might or might not happen in the future regarding the ownership, the club needs to get on with business.

Bang on Big Foot – couldn’t agree more. I’ll follow the results from afar but until MA is gone I cannot stomach it anymore. The emotional investment has got to much to bear when we know we’re now looking down the barrel of a serious relegation scrap. All because our owner simply doesn’t care.

And he’s being naive if he wants to sell OR keep the club. Because we won’t stay up with the managers he’s approaching nor the lack of recruitment we’re showing. It’s a disgrace.

Like others have said I’m surprised Shearer hasn’t said anything recently. In fact he’s been eerily quiet, almost like he knows something and is just waiting for the moment to go big, maybe on the first Match Of The Day of the season.

BZG may not be the legitimate buyers we thought they were but there’s no reason why Ashley has remained silent throughout and allowed the farce to continue. At some point they could gave given an update and Charnley’s silence isa disgrace through this. Ashley is so thick it doesn’t affect him so we’ve got to go for Charnley at games!

ashley is at most to blame, he could sell if he wished
i’m just saying all logic points to bzg not being legit or having a legitimate interest in buying us

ashley spun the story wonderfully by doing nothing and letting the press have a field day
while the press have a field day sports direct gets a mention in every single piece written on our media outlets

how much advertising is that for free
we are the worlds best free advertising platform

we are the worst run football club at the elite level when considering footballing values

So some are saying Danny Welbeck would be a good signing, better than Rondon, he played 8 games in the league last season, he is out nearly every season with injuries, in his 5 seasons at Arsenal he played over 20 league games in only 2 of those season and has a total of 16 league goals in 88 games for them hardly prolific, same as Andy Carroll who is certain to miss at least 4-5 months with injuries, we need strikers to be fit and available not on the treatment table

Seriously, calling fans with a different opinion names doesn’t help anything or anyone – except Ashley. Divide and rule #101. Come on, it used to entrench me even further and cause me to react in the same way. Nobody gets to decide how somebody else thinks or acts. Not you, not me – nobody.
Tbh, despite boycotting myself, I’m not convinced it’ll work. I’m doing it out of solidarity, not because I think it will work. I don’t think you can hold a billionaire to ransom over a few million quid. I’d like to be wrong, but only time will tell. That said, it sends a message out. Let him know enough is enough. If we don’t, we’ll never know.
A lot of people are like me, bought their ST in March and won’t see the point in boycotting as he’s got their money. To them I’d say it’s not about money, it’s about sending a message out to Ashley. This is what we can do if you don’t sell up. That’s all. Watch on TV for one game at least. Maybe all TV games. I don’t want to do it – nobody does – but he won’t go if he believes we’ll keep turning up. One game for now, see how it goes? Give it a go please. No name calling, your life, your money, your choice, but think about it at least.

Good for yous! Lots of fans just had enough of this regime. We can still watch games on tv and online but not paying for a seat is the only sane reaction to this farce. I’m sure we’ll be back but this was the last draw for me and my family!

We abuse him you are fuelling ignore pr1cks like keys to slate us more and for this action it will be justified. Pitch invasions against Ashley more fans than stewards will do the trick. The kits against Ashley will piss him and the sponsors off. Put your energy into something more productive. Hwtl

I can’t help trying to make sense of our situation beyond the most basic as I don’t believe it is straightforward. I have a brain and use it beyond chanting on here.

There can’t be a poster or reader of this Blog who is a NUFC fan who doesn’t want Ashley gone

I put forward a notion as the Blog intends which not unexpectedly the cretin who preens himself (as others say “right all along”) can’t get his a head around or try to reason with a genuine poster – another badge of honour to join the others in the bin.

I await answers from him as to who the shills are and the evidence for his claims and what apart from spouting off ad nauseum heactually is doing to change the ownership.

I know the answer of course – NOTHING

People daying BZG were ‘time-wastrrs’ or ‘frauds’ – remember the othrr failed sales ? Remember Ashley calling Stavely’s consortium a ‘waste of time ‘ despite george caulkin confirming she’d msde three perfectly credible bids ?

Everyone who has tried to buy Newcastle in Ashley’s time has apparently been a ‘time-waster’ or ‘tyre-kicker’ or lacked the funds. All different people.

But what’s the one common factor across all of these failed sales ? Thats right. Ashley. So when it comes to pinning the blame for this summers chaos and failure on someone, lets remember all of this.

If there is no takeover there is only one person to blame and we know who that is. Or we should.
