Ex-Newcastle Midfielder Finds New Club After Leaving On A Free

Mohamed Diame has finally found a new club. He will join Qatar Stars League club Al Ahli on a two-year deal after failing to secure a lucrative move to another Qatari club.

Here is the official tweet from his new club.

Two weeks ago the news was that Diame was about sign a massive £100,000/week contract with Al Gharafa. He was expected to join former Newcastle target Vladimir Weiss and former Dutch international Wesley Sneijder at the club.

Incidentally, Al Gharafa has just signed former Fulham coach Slavisa Jokanovic to be their manager so they must be willing to spend big to get players and coaches to join them.

However, the Diame to Al Gharafa news then went silent and no announcement was made of a deal. But it looks like he may have failed his medical at Al Gharafa.

Mo Diame will leave Newcastle after falling one start short of triggering a contract extension for another season with the Magpies. The way things are shaping up, it looks like we certainly could use him this season.

His experience and also familiarity with Steve Bruce from his time at Hull City might have proved invaluable.

We wish Mohamed Diame the best of luck in Qatar and hope he does well for his new club.

Sol Campbell dragging Macclesfield to safety was a miracle. Considering he went in cold, no managerial or coaching experience at all, it was a fairy tale for him and the club.

My missus and I were at Matfen Hall shortly after he joined us and were hanging round the spa. He was being called fat in the media, everyone saying he was unfit. My missus couldn’t take her eyes off him when he got in the pool.

    🙁

3 theories I have to explain the Steve Bruce madness with a positive takeover spin. If none of these comes true and we get the dreaded unveiling of Mr Potato Head as manager tomorrow then unfortunately the doors of Captain AmeriMag’s Positivity Club will have to close forever.

They are all still plausible though so for one last night let’s try thinking positive.

    In ascending order:

    1. This is Ashley’s last bluff to force BZG to commit to some sort of last minute goalpost move.
    2. The takeover is still very close but a Bruce enquiry has been made just as a back up plan in case of a last minute hiccup, media got wind and went wild.
    Or lastly, my personal favourite:
    3. The takeover is done and the BZG are on the wind up here, leaking info to Sky Sports to make them look like idiots before announcing themselves tomorrow instead of Bruce.

I’m going to dream happy dreams of option 3 tonight, might be the last happy night for a long long time

The Hoss is a loss Stesteva. He’s going to end up back in Spain. Not much of a loss. I’m more worried we’ll get nobody in and Gayle and Muto won’t be able to hack it.

    Charnley clearly never played football.
    Hasn’t a clue about leader-team dynamics.
Is living in fear of bully boy Ashley.
Would be best as a clerk in an old school newspaper like the Journal making tea.

And Bruce has believed what he’s being told by Charnley.
Bruce has his fingers in his ears when Shearer tells him no, no, no.

Lost in Space seems more fun in comparison.

Thats the most confusing issue. IF we do have a large budget (big if) wouldn’t it be better in the hands of a decent manager..like rafa.

Sticking point is, mike doesnt want to hand the cash over. Theyll do the identifying with the help of Bruce and we must have the reddies in the bank first. Rafa probably didnt agree to this

Funny how it took 2years to discuss rafas contract while cauliflower is in the salad bag within a day..

    😉

Your point re not spending money on the squad with a low-level manager. Ashley has form for this. Carver, McClaren and Pardew all saw money spent during their tenures.

Rafa and Hughton, not so much….

Just wierd. It’s like he handicaps the managers who are popular with the fans, but backs those that we don’t like. Why be such a contrary ba$tard?

I wonder if that’s it Rob? I can’t get a handle on it or him at all. Does he see us as strong enough to survive another season as is? If so he’s mad. Where are the goals going to come from? Many of the young strikers we’ve been linked with wouldn’t be enough either.

Yeah all those theories are dog 2hit
How many times… honestly what will it take for some numpties to stop thinking there’s a takeover?
    THERE IS NO 4KING TAKEOVER
Fat Ash has no intention of selling nufc as a whole club.
He will forever own the sponsorship and all merchandise…which means nobody will ever follow through on a takeover.
Sad reality is that you need to be brave and let the club die…slip into league 1 mediocrity before Ashley considers leaving

In hindsight it was always too good to be true. Ashley leaving and man city level money coming in? Lol I wouldn’t say we were gullible though all the signs pointed towards it. Question is why were BZG giving all this positive info when it clearly wasn’t to be ?

    Evening standard
Last line, ha ha ah ha ha , deluded.
And just how much have you paid for players ?
And how much have you paid them and still they cant be arsed to put a shift in and want out

Manchester United have been stunned by Newcastle’s £50m valuation of Sean Longstaff.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hoped to include the midfielder in his summer overhaul – but Newcastle’s exorbitant asking price has placed the move in doubt.
United expected to pay a maximum £25m for the 21-year-old – and Solskjær has already warned he will walk away from over-priced targets.
But Solskjær is adamant the club will not be held to ransom.
He issued a warning here in Perth, saying: “We’re still in the market looking to do some business, but we’re patient.

“We’re Manchester United. We don’t have to sell and don’t have to overpay.

naptoon, where there’s life, there’s hope mate. None of the major players have come out and said it’s off, until they do I’m keeping my glass part full at least.

There are too many good reasons why the sale should happen and not enough reasons yet why it won’t.

As someone said earlier, it could be that the buyer wants to see the managerial / coaching situation sorted before they take over as they don’t have the contacts to do it.

I haven’t mentioned the takeover purposefully all day, btw, I only mention it now as it’s you. I’ll probably get pelters now lol.

Get intouch with me there if you want to join in in a blog protest outside sjp.
We can arrange a date and make sure people turn up.
If we start this the other groups can join in.
There is all ready a joint statement out by rhe various groups.
Make it a joint protest under one banner.
    One goal, ashley out.
A peaceful protest has twice as much chance of achieving your goal, having organisations like local authority or business to back your goal and having more than 100 people turn up makes your chances of protest turn more into a movement.keep it up.for longer than a day and it will gain more momentum.
There is more than 100 that read this blog, there is 14k followers on both magpie group and ashley out.
    This can be achieved.

Don’t get me wrong I have no trouble believing that Ashley was up to his tricks but I struggle to understand why they would let him take them around the paddock in the way he has with no protest. I’m very curious about them I really hope some details come out
