Poll On Steve Bruce As Local Journalists Verify Him As Likely Next Manager

Mark Douglas of the Chronicle has tweeted confirmation of earlier reports from the Telegraph that Steve Bruce’s appointment is very close and barring an unexpected turn, very likely.

This is what Mark Douglas has tweeted:

Keith Downie has also reported that colleague Richard Graves has seen Steve Bruce leaving Hillsborough this morning. Sheffield Wednesday staff and players reportedly have the day off today.

It is looking very much like Steve Bruce will be the next manager at Newcastle United. While this is extremely raw right now, we will put out a poll on this potential appointment.

We expect the response to be very much in the negative as this is quite a shock at the moment. We have gone with the question of supporting Steve Bruce rather than being happy with him as the choice.

Would You Support Steve Bruce As The Next Manager Of Newcastle United?

I don’t blame Bruce for taking the job, I blame Charnley for offering him it. One could question Bruce’s judgement but you cannot blame him.
Do I support his appointment? No.
Do I want him to do well? Yes.

looks like Kevin Nolan is already signed up, you couldn’t make it up.Only Charnley could pull a stunt like this

The Mail piece speculated that Allardyce rejected the offer after learning of his limited input into transfers and that fellow old boy Kevin Nolan (also currently out of work) was lined up as his No.2.

    Chancel

It’s a strange one but Lee Clarke a true Geordie signed for them – different “Professional” perspective to that of also being a fan? Bob Stokoe managed them and is a hero.

We have signed some decent players who played for them – Stan Anderson, Paul Bracewell, Barry Venison, Shay Given etc

The only helicopter we should be watching is an Apache unloading a couple of Hellfires into Ashley’s exec box. In that bamboo stick scenario the point of the shoot is now piercing the heart of this club.

This is definitive as any point that Ashley has a hilarious disdain for his customers, the toon fans. Whatever slight he perceived he is dealing out the maximum before he runs the club into the dirt and walks away from the rubble having made a profit.

I’m not spending one penny even indirectly on anything to do with Ashley. Done. Anyone who does just prizes his selfish social-life craving nature above his own self-worth because when you do you present your bare buttocks to Ashley so he can get a clean swipe at it with a cricket bat. When you go through the turnstiles imagine yourself being slapped on the back of the head as you pass through.

There is no way I will cheer on a team handled by Mike’s pet dog, I know it’s not the players fault but I’m not buying it either.

I actually think in the bottomless pit of mediocre/shite managers we’ve been looking in that Bruce is probably the best of a very bad bunch haha. Look at the alternatives, Pardew, fat Sam, Martin O’Neill etc etc. Jesus Christ It’s like picking what sexually transmitted infection you’d like to catch. Meh!

Bobbybee “We get round to showing solidarity and a Geordie gets Ashley out of a hole”

Even me, a plastic Geordie (albeit of long standing) gets this, how come Bruce himself doesn’t?

Hibbit called him a traitor. That’s maybe a bit strong, but if he signs on he’s betrayed his roots and the ‘Geordie Nation’ so it’s hard to argue against.

“Well erm no actually I don’t attend games
have to look after the kids you know how it is”

    sheepish smile emoji

Fcuk you Jib, I’ve supported NUFC 49 years, you know I live in the states now or maybe you don’t because I’m not a google search.

I used to travel for two games a season and to see family costing me up to 5 grand a visit.

Stopped going to games after realizing MA will never change and he’s a piece of shite.

Maybe some are right about you being a prop for Mike Ashley.

Weve got more goalies than strikers
Jabba wont spend money on strikers so were always scraping about for them
We dont mind selling them so if we do find on its a dead cert he will be sold quick

Hate the man with a passion, how many wrong decision can one make, we wanted you gone yet you refused so the only other thing you had to do was keep Beniitez and we would gritt our teeth and continue to support, and you have messed both up..which is what you wanted really, to keep your cash cow but have a yes man who was content on 17th place, Benitez was a thorn in your side beecause he had ambition.

Id rather have no manager and the club implode (as it is doing) as long as it gets rid of Ashley and Charnley.
    Relegation beckons for sure.

Im absolutely speechless at the mess the arrogant tw@t has caused.

Anyone who accepts a Bruce/Nolan “rescue package” of a “Proper Geordie” and “Club Hero” of this type totally deserves the absolutely dire state we’ve been plunged into. Almost impossible to imagine six months ago, acceptance of this absolute disaster scenario has to be the nadir of the Toon fans existence. It’s like dying of thirst in the desert and running out of camel urine to drink. Unbelievable and unacceptable.

He’ll come in and paint himself as a true local lad etc.

He will make fun of fact he was mackem manager.

He is not a geordie. He is a traitor to our area. He is a mackem now. F*** him.

The area and city are still mine. The ground and name are still mine. But these c**** that are taking money from it with utter contempt for us all are no friends of mine. I wish these people the worst especially Charnley. They’ve treat me like dirt and I hope they suffer.
This isn’t my club at the moment. One day I will get it back. Until turn I am so close to really losing it and going they get hammered every game until I get what I love back.

It’s s not out club anymore.

I can’t see how they can resurrect it with a manager in place no one wants and in the remaining time frame. Revisit at Christmas? Possibly but Ashley can’t expect the same terms. Perhaps he’s buying Kenyon time? Who knows. None of this makes actual sense really.

How about a movement to truly support Gatehshead instead while Ashley is still here.
Try and get the North East celebrities who are loaded like Ant and Dec, Mark Knopfler, Sting etc, etc, on board to act as a consortium to expand and improve Gateshead financially.
It will take many years but with financial input they could become a Premier League club instead.
I know its a long shot but its got to be better than this shite.
