Mark Douglas of the Chronicle has tweeted confirmation of earlier reports from the Telegraph that Steve Bruce’s appointment is very close and barring an unexpected turn, very likely.
This is what Mark Douglas has tweeted:
Steve Bruce appointment now imminent at #nufc. Details to be worked out with #swfc but he's heading to SJP.
Could even be in before trip to China. Walking into a firestorm at #NUFC, which he surely knows.

Keith Downie has also reported that colleague Richard Graves has seen Steve Bruce leaving Hillsborough this morning. Sheffield Wednesday staff and players reportedly have the day off today.
Our reporter @RichardGraves1 has spotted Steve Bruce leaving Hillsborough in a chauffeur-driven car, as Newcastle get set to offer him their manager’s job #NUFC #SWFC

It is looking very much like Steve Bruce will be the next manager at Newcastle United. While this is extremely raw right now, we will put out a poll on this potential appointment.
We expect the response to be very much in the negative as this is quite a shock at the moment. We have gone with the question of supporting Steve Bruce rather than being happy with him as the choice.

Comment #241Tom. If you earn £10 and you spend £0 your balance sheet will show £10 of “reserves” moving from one year to the next. It isn’t just about turnover but I completely agree, it would be better to see more of the assets of the club on the pitch and not as a figure as cash on a balance sheet. This would be a rise in the level of debate about how the club is managed and a move away from the “Jabba is robbing the club” (he owns) argument

Comment #243Tom at 221 yes that is a record of a loan repayment. Again I’m sure we all would have preferred to have seen that as money towards a player.

Comment #244MarkBro. If NUFC owned the ground and it was sold, it would be in the accounts.

Comment #245Toon 22. I can be in a group of 1 and still be correct.
My point is about how a large number of people within the blog take on quite radical views without evidence and then “slag off” anyone who disagrees with them.
It doesn’t change the facts, it only reflects badly on the level of understanding the group has and the general unwillingness to refrain from delusional misinformation and slander.

Comment #249magicmac54 at 248: You are making a personal insult at me with your comment. It provides another example of the point I’m trying to make.
Firstly: be respectful to others
Secondly: do not take rumours at face value, undertake some research from reputable sources and argue with proven evidence
Thirdly: write clearly, in English, with clear grammar and punctuation
