Steve Bruce Asks Sheffield Wednesday Permission For Newcastle Talks

According to Paul Joyce who is a football correspondent for the Times, Steve Bruce has asked for permission to speak with Newcastle.

This is what Paul Joyce has tweeted this morning.

We have to firmly believe that Steve Bruce is the top candidate after the revelation that Sam Allardyce was offered and turned down the job.

It is in cases like this that the club does itself a great disservice. As this reporting came out last night and Sam Allardyce has confirmed it this morning.

But we have nothing from the club. So we have to just accept the words of the journalist and Allardyce that the report is true.

When contentious stories such as these blow up in the media, the club would do itself a lot less harm by commenting on it. Especially if it is not true.

Steve Bruce– Wait! I want to switch sides

If Paul Joyce’s reporting is correct, it looks like Steve Bruce will listen to what Newcastle have to offer. Though we already know that it will not be much.

But we do not want to be too harsh on Steve as he is from the area and is a decent man. We just have to come to grips with the descent our club has taken since the end of this season.

We were looking forward to having Rafa Benitez build on the solid foundation he set. He was to finally have a transfer budget to add a few key pieces and this could have been an exciting season.

It has all gone very weird and very wrong. Trying to find silver linings is becoming quite the task at the moment.

Not surprisingly charnley hasn’t had the gumption to look towards younger European coaches who work under tight financial restrictions. There is little point going for a manager with prem experience if it involves a manager who tends to get relegated! That said, I don’t want nufc fans splattering anti Bruce bile all over the Internet and making us look like scumbags. Cop on ffs

Just talking to an old guy in our village who to be fair is more into his rugby but keeps an eye out for the mags. I said ”from Rafa to Steve bl–dy Bruce” and he said ”who?” I said ”Exactly”

What Ash has never realised that apart from being a giant billboard for SD, his blueprint for buying in youngsters to in future sell off at huge profit will never work under a Pardew / Bruce / Allardyce / Moyes prototype. We’ve just klled the golden goose in that regard. Imagine for an example any of those making Haydyn into a 20M player.

All the bolt ons will always scupper a sale sadly. Rafa gone, no sale, Bruce in the arrivals lounge. Why always us!!!!

If somebody was to “off” MA, there’d be AT LEAST 52,000 suspects. The bizzies would never be able to solve it. Not that it should be considered a crime like. There’s got to be some SAS type amongst our numbers who could pull it off and make it look like an accident.

i expect he has and been told to do one.

It’s not just the financial constraints that are the issue here . Continental clubs are generally very professionally run, which is something we can never accuse Ash and charmley of. I used to think people were joking about the the wheelie bin ice baths!!

Charmley is in his comfort zone with the never wassers like hughes, bruce, mclarens and other failed dullard Brits

Hayden was on loan at Hull City under Bruce before he joined us

Snodgrass Livermore Maguire Hernandez Clucas also Bruce products

and last but not least Andy Robertson – Hull sold him to Liverpoolfor big bucks

What a shambles this club really is. SMFH!

There’s one thing can save us at this point and it’s Ashley gone.

Jail and I speculated a couple of months ago (before the BZG news broke) what would happen if Ashley allowed Rafa to leave and we agreed with our conclusion – total fcucking bedlam, mass fan protests, a yes-man appointed to sit in Rafa’s place, followed by potential relegation and the significant devaluing of the club.

    Guess what, it’s happening.

If we could see it coming in February / March, then how in Christ’s name did Ashley and his cronies not? They’re supposed to be smart businessmen, FFS!

He’s got no option in my eyes, he has to make the sale work. If not, well, his investment is becoming more toxic by the day, yet a takeover and a decent managerial appointment will see morale surge, the clouds lift and some players actually want to join the club, while Ashley gets to walk away his pockets stuffed full of used twenties and his head, remarkably, held high, knowing he’s actually managed to wring a profit out of his years of neglect.

The takeover process is our only hope and I’m not yet ready to give up on it.

Apparently some species of bamboo can grow it’s shoots out of the ground at the rate of a foot a day. Far Eastern methods of torturous execution included the technique of sharpening a shoot at ground level, then tying the victim down on top of it and let the bamboo do its work.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you The Hiring of Steve Bruce.

For those asking, as of the last check call, still no formal approach from #nufc for #swfc boss Steve Bruce. It would appear folk at SJP are spending more time telling people what they are going to do rather than actually doing it.

Well at nearly 80 years of age and over 70 years of supporting, (been there done that got the thrill of been passed from the back to the front over heads at the Leazes end, got my 6p bag of peanuts, followed by a season tickets for the centre paddock when they were introduced, and then a season ticket when the East Stand was built – which I still have), I am so unproud to say that NUFC have finally broken my resolve to follow them through thick and thin.

Mike Ashley you are a disgrace to be linked to our proud region, you have manipulated folks for so long now, do you care – not one jot do you. there was a guy just like you around just after I was borne and that is honestly the comparison I make, I hope you are pleased with the atmosphere in our little bit of Britain, that you have created, please note I have removed the ‘Great’ because as long as there is folks like you around it should not be used.

Where the FA and PL are when they should and must observe what is happening at NUFC beggars believe, suppose if you really needed the money you might think differently Mr Ashley, but you are a playboy and you are using us as your ‘chips’, not any more you ain’t – BYE

PS, my young nephew is off to China this weekend to follow NUFC, that’s what you call a supporter – what do you call yourself.?

I am reposting this from earlier this morning firstly to commend the gentleman who wrote this on his fine words and secondly to highlight to all the PR and Ashley apologists who read this blog what an absolutely disgraceful human being our owner is.

Whilst the club is frantically sifting through the barrel scrapings to find a manager who will toe the line and work with Ashley to allow the club to continue its remit of fleecing the fans and lining the owner’s pockets, perhaps a thought could be spared for the feelings of this senior fan who is one of life’s real people as opposed to the predatorial parasite that owns NUFC.

    SHAME ON YOU MIKE ASHLEY.

If Steve Bruce has indeed asked for permission to speak to NUFC, expect a statement from SWFC quickly saying they either have / haven’t given that permission.

If he hasn’t asked for permission and it’s a made up story from this guy, expect a swift rebuttal from SWFC and / or Bruce himself.

Either way, the Times journo has put SWFC and Bruce in a position where, as a responsible football club with respect for their fans, they’ll have to clarify the situation.

To paraphrase Lambias from a few years ago..
You don’t know how evil he (MA) can be,..

I think we’re about to find out. He is rich enough to run our club into the ground, with enough potential earnings to more than break even (£300M-£400M) over the next 3 seasons.
