Guingamp forward Marcus Thuram has been signed by Borussia Monchengladbach in a €9m deal. Marcus is the son of former French International and 1998 World Cup winning defender Lilian Thuram.
Here is a tweet from Gladbach announcing the signing of the 21-year-old.

Newcastle were linked with the striker last month along with Everton. The player was made available by Guingamp due to their relegation to Ligue 2.
Thuram was one of the few bright spots for the French club last season scoring 13 goals in 38 appearances while playing mostly as a left winger and occasionally as a striker.
The 6’2″ right-footed Frenchman will turn twenty-two in August and Gladbach looks to have gotten a really good deal for Thuram.

Comment #7If Charnley goes against Bruce’s wishes and signs the French lad Bruce doesn’t want, will Bruce walk? If he did, he’d beat Clough’s 44 days at Leeds by a country mile. Now that’d be another success for Ashley’s favoured model.
Go on Steve, show what your made of, show the world you’re nobody’s puppet.

Comment #14Can’t bring myself to believe at all in a BZG takeover now. Think we’ve simply lost a great manager, turned a lesser one out of necessity, and are now willing to back him with the money the club has at its disposal to the tune of a mid table squad, although the deals still need to get up, and there’s myriad reasons why deals don’t done, particularly at Newcastle.

Comment #27The actual content of Reilly’s post – Huddersfield Town club statement:
“Following Newcastle United’s announcement on 17 July 2019 of its appointment of former Sheffield Wednesday staff Steve Bruce, Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence, the Club confirms that it has today reported Newcastle United’s conduct to the Premier League.
As the Premier League will now initiate and carry out investigations into the Club’s allegations, the Club will not be commenting further on this matter whilst such investigations are ongoing.”
Hilarious! Punishments for tapping up have in the past been transfer bans and fines for players. Not sure if there has ever been a punishment handed out for tapping up an entire coaching staff, but this could actually end up with NUFC not being able to sign anyone for a full season – the punishment which was handed out by FIFA to Chelsea FC when they pinched Gael Kakuta from Lens, though it was later overturned.
The implication is that, as the punishment would be meted on a club, not a Director, if Ashley does indeed sell, then a new owner may not be able to buy anyone.
Has Ashley’s impetuousness just banjaxed his own valuation of the club?
This guy is a proper dipstick! Someone please put me out of my misery!

We played Scyth tonight, it took about an hour to set up, and finished about half an hour ago. Won’t try to explain it as it’s fairly convoluted, but it is actually a .good game.
We’ve in the past done quite a lot RPG stuff, board games like Carcassone, Ticket To Ride, Who killed Dr Lucky to name but a few.
Great fun and plenty of good craic with loads of beer and munchies.

Comment #37Essex, could be. But fats splashed once before for mcclaren so we cant be certain what he’s up to. Maybe he just hated rafa, knows he has a manager with a weak prem history and knows he has to splash. And he has the perez cash so its not a major investment.

Comment #40Net spend is damning over the years, but gross spend is actually quite high, or was prior to the last relegation. I believe we basically don’t make a profit. Money in money out. It’s the fact that we don’t maximize revenue, advertising most of all, too often poor people in key positions down the years, poorly executed transfer strategy, and very significantly the two relegations that have essentially kept us down under Ashley. Ashley gets his cream, the club stumbles on.
