Sheffield Wednesday have issued a brief statement on their official website confirming that they have reported Newcastle United to the Premier League over their conduct in announcing Steve Bruce as manager.

Here is the short statement issued by Sheffield Wednesday.
Following Newcastle United’s announcement on 17 July 2019 of its appointment of former Sheffield Wednesday staff Steve Bruce, Steve Agnew and Stephen Clemence, the Club confirms that it has today reported Newcastle United’s conduct to the Premier League.
As the Premier League will now initiate and carry out investigations into the Club’s allegations, the Club will not be commenting further on this matter whilst such investigations are ongoing.
Late Sunday, it was reported in the Sun and the Mirror, that Owls’ chairman Dejphon Chansiri wanted both Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar on loan as part of Bruce’s compensation package.
This was not something Newcastle were willing to accept and the Mirror actually painted both Mike Ashley and Steve Bruce sympathetically with Chansiri as the villain.
That report had Mike Ashley willing to pay the entire fee which they claim was much less than was being reported. It also said that Steve Bruce was very communicative with Chansiri keeping him apprised of all developments.
We have doubts as to the authenticity of this picture painted in the Mirror as most likely all parties involved acted in their own best interest.
We will see what comes of this and if it does turn out that Newcastle did breach Bruce’s contract with Sheffield Wednesday, we would hope that they will be held accountable.

Comment #4None of the parties are coming out of this looking ‘too clever’ but if Wednesday had wanted to sack Bruce then they could have done no questions asked! I guess we’ll get a fine and compensation awarded to Wednesday – I can’t see extreme punishments such as points deduction or transfer embargo in a case like this.

Comment #5Transfer embargo to Newcastle? Well that would only be a bonus for the fat twat, would it not?

Comment #7It will be settled in a way that makes nobody happy. Ashley has to pay more, Wednesday don’t get their demands, and fans have to continue with Bruce on charge.

This carry on over Bruce’ll give the powers-to-be more ammunition to bash NUFC, a club which because of Ashley is becoming an embarrassment to the EPL. Don’t be surprised if they come down hard.

Comment #11Bruce has the best beak in the premier league. It’s like four times Owen Wilson’s. I admire its mountains and valleys. It tells a story.

Comment #12It seems this guy is much worse than MA, not saying MA is good. He wrote his own freakin name on the stadium, imagine if he wrote his name on St. James.

Comment #15If Ashley has to pay more he will make the fans pay as he has been stealing money from the club to his own pocket with the help of his own accountants for more than a decade.
