John Carver gave some interviews after the comprehensive 3-0 defeat yesterday by an Everton side who had equaled their biggest win of the season in the league when they beat Newcastle 3-0, and the last time they did that was when they beat Aston Villa at home on 18th October – so you understand why Everton fans were so happy after the game.

John Carver seems in over his head at the moment,  but it’s not John who is responsible for the condition of the Newcastle United playing squad right now – it’s those above him who let their experienced manager leave when Lee Charnley admitted Alan Pardew’s request to leave came out of the blue, and they didn’t have a plan to replace him.

We had 10 days to prepare for the game at Manchester City a few weeks ago, and we were 3-0 down at the break and today we allowed Everton their first win at home in three months – and Newcastle looked a very poor side today against a side who have struggled in the league all season.
