This Midfielder Could Be Rafa’s First Signing For Newcastle

Saturday, May 21st, 2016 · 9 Comments

Newcastle are being linked in the French press with 6ft 4ins Senegal midfielder Cheick N’Doye, who currently plays for Angers in France, and as far as we can tell we have never been linked with this player before.

He’s 30 years old and normally that would mean no bid from Newcastle, but now it’s up to Rafa Benitez who he signs and if this players is what he wants, then Newcastle will attempt to get him to the club.

The twice capped Senegal International had an excellent season for newly promoted Angers in Ligue 1 this last season and he is said to want to move to England.

When Rafa Signs – This Is What Newcastle Will Become

Saturday, May 21st, 2016 · 39 Comments

If Rafa Benitez is introduced as the new Newcastle manager by mid next week, as the latest news seems to suggest, then we can say that Newcastle will soon become a proper football  club.

What do we mean by that – a team well coached by a top class manager – and a club that will soon be one of the best-run clubs in England – not to mention (hopefully) one of the most successful clubs in England and even in Europe.

Whoa – that sounds good!

With Rafa Benitez in charge and hopefully Mike Ashley and others willing to give him carte blanche and also willing to stay out of his way – this will become a new era for Newcastle United.

Surgeon – Ginola Lucky To Be Alive – It’s An Unbelievable Story

Saturday, May 21st, 2016 · 92 Comments

David Ginola is a very lucky man to still be alive today, as he recovers in a French hospital after having an emergency six-hour quadruple heart bypass surgery.

The earlier news was that he had suffered a heart attack while playing in a charity football match but that was being denied yesterday.

But it turns out he was in cardiac arrest on the pitch and he had to be shocked four times via a defibrillator by the emergency medical team, who had arrived just 8 minutes after he had collapsed – before he was airlifted to the Monaco hospital.

If that hadn’t happened in that timely manner he would have suffered irrecoverable brain damage.

The former Newcastle United winger was indeed close to death and his surgeon today has confirmed the 49 year-old could have been brain dead and is a very lucky man.

These Were Newcastle’s Top Four Players Last Season

Saturday, May 21st, 2016 · 23 Comments

The results of our annual Player of the Season Poll are in and it’s not a surprise that goalkeeper Rob Elliot is our Player of the Season with 40% of the vote for last season.

Rob was simply a revelation when he came in for the injured Tim Krul last October and played 21 times for the Newcastle side and pot in a number of magnificent performances for the side.

Maybe his best game was at Bournemouth, where he made five world-class saves in that game and we won 1-0 and it was really Rob versus Bournemouth and Rob won.

Newcastle’s Top Youngster Determined To Be Successful

Saturday, May 21st, 2016 · 6 Comments

Adam Armstrong will return to Newcastle in pre-season after spending a really successful loan spell at Coventry City last season, where he performed extremely well for the Sky Blues and scored 20 goals in 40 appearances for the club.

The good news for Newcastle is that Adam was well managed by Coventry manager Tony Mowbray – and he will have improved a lot with that experience of playing first team football for a full season.

Adam is a potential star player in the making, although we have had local lads in the past look great at his age but have then faded away.
