Rafa Careful This Does Not Impact Newcastle’s Promotion Drive

Sunday, October 23rd, 2016 · 11 Comments

Before every game Rafa Benitez has got this blog well-trained and we always say the game will be a tough one,  because you just never know in the Championship and the games against Fulham, Huddersfield and Wolves were shockers and Newcastle were not supposed to lose those games – but we did.

Starting off with two Championship defeats in a row when we only lost four games in the whole of 2009-20120 under Chris Hughton was a huge surprise.

But it did help to level set a lot of Geordie fans who thought we could walk away with the Championship this season, especially after such a good summer transfer window.

It’s Unbelievable How Much Depth Newcastle Have In The Squad

Sunday, October 23rd, 2016 · 14 Comments

DeAndre Yedlin got a start yesterday for Newcastle and the 23 year-old American right-back looks a great player in the making as he fights it out with Dutch International Vurnon Anita to play at right-back in what is turning out to be a very good Newcastle side this season.

With the fairly easy 3-0 home win against Ipswich yesterday, Newcastle are now 3 points clear at the top of the Championship.

Opposition Report – Newcastle Quality Too Much For Ipswich

Sunday, October 23rd, 2016 · 42 Comments

It was another good result for Newcastle yesterday in the 3-0 win over Ipswich Town, the club that Sir Bobby Robson managed for 13 years from 1969 until he took the England manager job in 1982.

And the two sets of fans are united in their love for their former manager and it showed through yesterday as both sets of fans chanted for their former boss in the second half of this game.

In 709 games Bobby managed Ipswich he had 316 wins and only 220 defeats for a win percentage of 44.6 and he managed Newcastle from 1999-2004 for 255 games with 119 wins and only 72 defeats for a win percentage of 46.7.

Winger Beating Himself Up For Missed Chances

Sunday, October 23rd, 2016 · 118 Comments

Matt Ritchie had another good game for Newcastle yesterday and he scored our third goal and has been playing very well for us all season.

But on the Newcastle website after the 3-0 home win over Ipswich yesterday Matt admitted he’s been a little unhappy that he’s missed a few chances of late.

That will probably come as a surprise to most fans, since Matt is already a huge favorite at the club and has settled his family on Tyneside.

Former Star Excited About Newcastle Under Rafa Benitez

Sunday, October 23rd, 2016 · 2 Comments

Kieron Dyer played at Newcastle for eight years from 1999 and played the whole five years when Sir Bobby Robson was managing the club from 999.

And Kieron proved to be a challenge for the former England manager, basically because he was often a pain to manage on Tyneside.

Kieron and Craig Bellamy were a handful for Bobby while he was manager of his home town club and Kieron has since admitted he deeply regrets being such a handful for Sir Bobby Robson while he was on Tyneside.
