Cabaye Should Start – He’s Paid To Play For Newcastle

Friday, August 23rd, 2013 · 45 Comments

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew will be in charge of his 100th Premier League for the Magpies in the game against West Ham United tomorrow, and what Newcastle really need is all 3 points, but it’s not all clear that we can get the win against what looked like a good side last weekend, when the Hammers beat newly promoted Cardiff City 2-0 at Upton Park.

One of the things that Newcastle fans will see tomorrow are the iconic wrought iron gates that used to be at the stadium, but were taken away in 1999, and they ended up at Woolsington Hall, the estate of Sir John Hall.

Here’s Our Team For Tomorrow – What’s Yours?

Newcastle supporters are far from happy at the moment, and it’s because of Newcastle feeble attempts to get new players in over the summer months, and it didn’t help that we were hammered 4-0 at the Etihad for the second season running,  and we looked miles and miles behind Manchester City is terms of movement, skill and class.

Newcastle’s Ambitions Similar To Manchester Clubs – Really?

Friday, August 23rd, 2013 · 111 Comments

Alan Pardew has made some comments in the local papers today, and one of the things he says is very difficult to prove – almost impossible to prove – given what we’ve seen in this summer’s transfer window so far.

Lyon Must Sell Bafe Gomis This Summer

Friday, August 23rd, 2013 · 31 Comments

News today that there is a possibility that Lyon will want to sell their top striker Bafe Gomis, to get some money into the club, as it looks likely the French club will miss out on the Champions League, after going down 2-0 at home, in the first leg of the play-off with Real Sociedad.

Pardew – We Need Two More Players

Friday, August 23rd, 2013 · 46 Comments

Alan Pardew has been interviewed in the local papers today and says he doesn’t have to sell before he buys – but that’s hardly earth-shattering news,  after Newcastle have spent at most £2M this summer, and that was the loan fee for Loic Remy from QPR, and Newcastle have spent the least of any club in the Premier League this summer – so far.
