It looked like Andy Carroll was going to be a super-star when he left Newcastle for Liverpool in January of 2011, after Newcastle couldn’t resist the £35M up front in cool cash the Merseyside club foolishly (in retrospect) offered Mike Ashley. And Newcastle fans were very upset and my son Neil vowed he would never watch Liverpool again. 😀
