One rather blunt, but easy and accurate way to sum up today’s game and result at St. James’ Park is that Southampton were the better side and deserved the three points – even though their three best players were all out injured, and this was their third game in six days.

Alarm Bells Should Be Going Off – Leadership Needed

While we don’t want to over-react to the poor display and poor result today against Southampton at home, we are on a very poor run and  that is our seventh defeat in the last nine games and we have conceded 22 goals in the process.

We’ve taken only 4 points from the last 21 points available, and we have no head coach, and we’re in the bottom half of the table 4 points above Crystal Palace but with a worse goal difference. 🙁

Sorry Newcastle Beaten 2-1 By Saints – Booed Off The Field

Newcastle gave a disappointing display today at home against a Southampton side who had three of their best players missing,  but for the first time in twelve tries at St. James’ Park, the Saints came away with a 2-1 victory – and they deserved the points.
