He’s been a bit of a surprise package, and played three excellent games in the Newcastle United shirt, and on Saturday Yoan Gouffran scored a great goal and played very well indeed, before being stretchered off in the second half.

Newcastle One Point Worse Off Than In Relegation Season

Monday, February 11th, 2013 · 30 Comments

We’ve looked back on our relegation season four years ago,  and after a 3-2 win at West Brom, followed by a 0-0 draw at home to Everton – after Kevin Nolan had been sent off in the first half – we had 28 points from 26 games played – one point more than we have today.

We Could Have Won It – Steven Taylor

Monday, February 11th, 2013 · 16 Comments

Steven Taylor thought everything was going according to plan in the second half on Saturday, as Newcastle were level 1-1 with only 15 minutes to go,  and it was obvious some Tottenham players were getting a little frustrated, as they started arguing between themselves, when things were not going for them on the field.

Monday, February 11th, 2013 · 18 Comments

Cheick Tiote came on after 82 minutes last Saturday,  in the disappointing defeat against Tottenham at White Hart Lane, but he says he didn’t expect to walk straight back into the side, after being a way for some weeks at the African Cup of Nations representing the Ivory Coast.

Magpies Well Positioned To Move Up The League Table

Sunday, February 10th, 2013 · 159 Comments

We were kind of hoping for a draw in this afternoon’s Aston Villa vs West Ham game, but Villa won 2-1, and it was the first time they had won a league game since they beat Liverpool 3-1 at Anfield on December 15th – that’s 10 league games in total, so a great win today for Aston Villa.
