Newcastle lost 1-0 tonight at Stoke in a close game, and though the Newcastle players gave their all in terms of effort, we were just not good enough in that final third of the field, and the best chance for Newcastle went to local lad Jack Colback on 84 minutes as Newcastle were pressing for an equalizer, and  he had a clear shot on goal from just six yards out, but somehow managed to hit the post.

We have to admit that we’ve been very impressed with the way Alan Pardew, the Newcastle manager,  has handled the stress that he must have been under over the last several weeks, and if you get a chance to see his press conference of Saturday – take a look at it – you would never believe he is under as much pressure for the game at Stoke tonight – as he undoubtedly is.

Newcastle’s League Record Since 5-1 Stoke Win Simply Pitiful

It’s not just that Newcastle are second bottom of the league at the moment – a step up thanks to a very poor looking Burnley side getting hammered 4-0 at West Brom yesterday, and having their goal difference become worse than Newcastle’s – it’s that Newcastle have had a terrible time of it in the league this year.
