Local Lad Keen To Make A Difference Next Season

Monday, June 27th, 2016 · 47 Comments

20-year-old Geordie Jamie Sterry made his Premier League debut in the final game of the season against Tottenham – when we took them apart 5-1 at St. James’ Park – and the local lad has impressed manager Rafa Benitez.

One of the many areas Rafa is looking to overhaul and get working at the club is the Youth Academy, so we can get a steady stream of good young players coming through to the first team.

And Rafa will have taken a good look at some of the young players he has right now and will have seen that right-back Jamie is one who is near the first team.

Rafa Benitez A Role Model And Example To His Players

Monday, June 27th, 2016 · 4 Comments

Rafa Benitez shocked Alan Shearer in May when the Spanish manager decided to stay on at Newcastle and manage in the second division of England, after he was manager of Real Madrid – one of the iconic clubs in world football – less than a year ago.

Alan didn’t think a manager of such esteem as Rafa would be willing to go down with the club – but he did – and the Newcastle manager did a good job of shrugging off questions about that from the media saying he simply wanted to coach – that’s what he liked doing.

Still No Breakthrough In The Summer Transfer Market

Sunday, June 26th, 2016 · 93 Comments

Newcastle are still to make their first signing of the summer and the players will be returning for pre-season training in the middle of the coming week.

Rafa Benitez will be trying to get in as many players as possible and as soon as possible once pre-season starts, because he wants them to have a full pre-season and our first league game is fairly early – at Fulham five weeks come Friday.

The Big Improvements Players Will See At The Benton Training Ground

Sunday, June 26th, 2016 · 43 Comments

Rafa Benitez does not let the grass grow under his feet and being a natural workaholic helps – in fact it helps a lot.

Rafa identified changes he wanted made at the Benton Training grounds and those changes have been completed and credit goes to Facilities manager Eddie Rutherford and Managing Director Lee Charnley for getting that work done.

When our players return this week, they will see the vast improvements that have been made in such a short period of time.

Benitez In Move For Scottish International Winger

Sunday, June 26th, 2016 · 58 Comments

The Sun is reporting today that Newcastle United want to make a £10m bid to sign 26 year-old Bournemouth right winger Matt Ritchie.

That could be tough, because the news is that West Ham are also interested in signing the 10 times capped Scottish International who played 41 times for Bournemouth last season in the Premier League with 4 goals.
