Rafa Benitez Will Give This Back To Newcastle Fans

Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 · 85 Comments

Newcastle fans are waiting rather anxiously to see if Rafa Benitez will commit long-term to Newcastle United and come in and manage the club in the Championship next season, with a plan to turn the club into a powerhouse in Europe just as quickly as he can.

His impact at Newcastle has already been immense, not just with the fans but with the players too.

We have all seen how a world-class manager goes about the business of sorting out the team – he dropped some of our best players – and what needs to be done to sort out the club – which has languished in the doldrums for far too long.

13th Day Of Negotiations With Benitez – So What’s Going On?

Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 · 6 Comments

The fact that Rafa Benitez was thinking of staying on at Newcastle was conveniently reported on Thursday morning 12th May, after we had been relegated the previous evening when Sunderland easily beat Everton 3-0 at home, to secure their safety in the Premier League.

And the negotiations have dragged on ever since then and the possibility of Rafa Benitez staying with us has captured the imagination of Newcastle fans everywhere that a great era may be on the horizon for the club.

And of course, no communication from the club about what’s happening – but that’s par for the course – and they have conveniently kept leaking positive news off and on over the past couple of weeks.

Wijnaldum Talks In Glowing Terms Of Club With Huge Potential

Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 · 13 Comments

Gini Wijnaldum has talked in glowing terms of Newcastle United as a club and he points out we were already relegated on the very last day of the season, but the St. James’ Park stadium was still packed chock-a-block and it looked glorious on a sunny May day when we took Tottenham apart 5-1.

And we had only 10 men for the last 20 minutes when we scored three unanswered goals, so that was a great way to end a season.

Newcastle After Profilic Championship Goalscorer

Monday, May 23rd, 2016 · 87 Comments

News today that Newcastle United are interested in a striker we were supposed to have fancied a couple of years ago – Ross McCormack – who is now at Fulham.

The London club only just avoided relegation from the Championship last season, but Ross still scored 21 goals in 45 appearances for them and in the two seasons he’s been at Fulham, he has scored 42 goals with 22 assists in just 100 appearances.

Quite a record.

Three Premier League Clubs Interested In Newcastle Midfielder

Monday, May 23rd, 2016 · 5 Comments

West Brom are said to be interested in Newcastle’s central midfielder Cheick Tiote, who we had half expected to go either to a Chinese or Qatar league side in the summer, but it seems West Brom’s Tony Pulis is interested in the Ivory Coast International.

Whether Rafa Benitez will let Cheick go in the summer is a good question, since he has said he wants to keep the majority of the squad together for the coming season in the Championship.

Newcastle’s finances are in good shape and there will not be a fire-sale at the club and indeed most of the squad will be kept for next season.
