Benitez Seems Impressed With This Newcastle Youngster

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 · 81 Comments

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez seems to like what he sees in 20 year-old Kevin Mbabu who is now fit again and was on on the bench at Liverpool.

When Kevin has played for the Newcastle first team – five times this season – he has looked good,  but he has again been injured most of the season.

But the fact that Rafa had him on the bench at Anfield when other more senior players were not, suggests Rafa can see the  potential in the Swiss U19 International.

Why Newcastle Must Not Allow This With Summer Transfers

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 · 84 Comments

Newcastle spent £52M last summer on transfers and even when we didn´t have a manager the transfer business went merrily along with Graham Carr identifying the players who were coming into the club – whether they were necessary or not.

So we signed Gini Wijnaldum, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Chancel Mbemba and Florian Thauvin whether the Newcastle manager approved of those transfers or not.

And since we are now second bottom of the league with three games to go and we brought in another four players for £29M in January, Newcastle´s transfer budget was not well spent this season.

That´s a massive understatement.

Surprise That Benitez Rates This Newcastle Player So Highly

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 · 23 Comments

Rafa Benitez had again been talking in glowing terms about French International midfielder Moussa Sissoko,  who he has made his Newcastle captain and if we survive this season and Rafa stays at the club – don´t be surprised if Moussa continues as captain next season.

It´s surprising, because Moussa never seemed to care too much this season or last season, but there´s no  doubt at all the 26 year-old has been revitalized and rejuvenated by Rafa Benitez’ arrival at Newcastle.

Moussa has been playing as well as he ever has on Tyneside – and in these vital times that´s just great to see.

Benitez Trying To Use These Top Two Players Effectively

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 · 18 Comments

Rafa Benitez seems to be a fan of Papiss Cisse and he keeps mentioning how well the Senegal striker has been playing for the team.

The former Liverpool manager has brought in two of our most experienced players in Papiss and Cheick Tiote and they have both played well in the last three games.

Rafa has preferred Cisse to start up front and then he has brought on young Aleksandar Mitrovic more as an impact sub in the second half of games and Mitro has been able to be effective in that role.

More Praise For Rafa Benitez

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 · 5 Comments

Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys is not a fan of Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez, but even Richard has said it´s impressive what Rafa has managed to do in the last three games after the debacle at Southampton.

Five points against three of our bogey teams, Swansea, Manchester City and Liverpool is a very good haul and now we have two much easier games coming up against Crustal Palace at home and Aston Villa away.

Easier on paper that is.
