Things Look Bleak – But There’s Still Hope If We Keep The Faith

Sunday, January 20th, 2013 · 288 Comments

It was really a shocker yesterday for us to lose to Reading at home, after winning all seven of our previous games against them at St. James’ Park – but it was almost a perfect storm – everything that could go against us went against us, and some were self-inflicted, and to be fair to the lads, in that first half we looked a good side with Yohan Cabaye nothing short of superb.

Yohan Cabaye Groin Injury Not Serious

Sunday, January 20th, 2013 · 394 Comments

Yohan Cabaye looked great for Newcastle yesterday, before he had to be taken off after 74 minutes, but the fans didn’t like that – and it was only 3 minutes after Reading had equalized – and the substitution was greeted with boos from some of the Newcastle faithful.

Taking Marveaux Off Was A Big Mistake – Pardew

Sunday, January 20th, 2013 · 47 Comments

Alan Pardew, in retrospect, has admitted that taking Sylvain Marveaux off after 64 minutes changed the game yesterday in reading’s favor, and to think it happened when we were comfortably ahead 1-0 in the game, and seemingly coasting to a huge home win.

Is Third Hammer To Fall At Newcastle?

Sunday, January 20th, 2013 · 129 Comments

In the disappointment, frustration and anger at yesterday’s loss to Reading which takes the southern side to just two points behind Newcastle in the league table, we had almost forgotten that tomorrow Newcastle will meet with their captain Fabricio Coloccini to decide whether they will let him walk away in mid-season to play in Argentina.

Newcastle Have Failed At Almost Every Hurdle Since November

Sunday, January 20th, 2013 · 10 Comments

It’s very painful,  but I’ve gone back to the first game in November, which was the 1-1 draw against Liverpool – and it was one week after we luckily won 2-1 at home to West Brom  –  with that winning goal in added time, and I’ve compiled Newcastle’s stats for the almost three months period since then.
