51-year-old referee Mark Halsey has already overcome cancer to get back into ­refereeing in the Premier League, and although he missed that terrible tackle from McManaman on Massadio Haidara at Wigan a week ago, in his report he told the FA that if he had seen it,  he would have given a straight red card to the Wigan player.
