Monday, August 20th, 2012 · 31 Comments

Referee Mike Atkinson will submit his report to the FA today, and what he says about the Alan Pardew incident, when the Newcastle manager shoved the referee’s assistant Stuart Burt in the second half, will help decide the punishment Alan will receive,  but surely a two  match touchline ban is the very most he will receive  – if that.

Monday, August 20th, 2012 · 67 Comments

Demba Ba was back to his scoring ways again on Saturday, when he put Newcastle ahead in the 53rd minute with a tremendous goal, and although Spurs equalized through Defoe on 76 minutes, Ben Arfa produced some of his brilliance four minutes later, to earn a penalty which he converted, and that helped Newcastle win that first tough league game 2-1, after the Magpies had been second best to Spurs in the first half.

Immediately after the game yesterday the news was going around that Erik Pieters had been seen at the game against Spurs, and there were photographs to prove that too, so we obviously have to ask the question is he is on Tyneside to be signed by Newcastle United?

One of the great things about football is that it doesn’t really matter much about your size, and you don’t have to be big like you do for example, in most of the American sports, and indeed the best footballer in the world at the moment is just 5’7″ tall – the great Lionel Messi, and the Argentine is such a great guy too.
