Allardyce – We Got Second or Third Choice Players

Monday, December 3rd, 2007 · 36 Comments

Sam Allardyce has made what to us looks like a rather dangerous move in saying the players he brought in during the summer were second or third choices, That’s because the premiership players he really wanted had already been taken.

We know Big Sam really wanted Sylvain Distin and Tal Ben Haim, and maybe a few more, but it seems a bit dangerous at this stage to label his charges only second or third choices.

The Newcastle United and England central midfielder, Joey Barton, is to be tried in court in June of next year.

The charge against Joey is one of occasioning actual bodily harm on Ousmane Dabo, his former team mate at Manchester City football club, at the beginning of April this year.

But Joey Barton insists he has done nothing wrong. Joey gives an interview about the charge with Inside Sport, which it to be broadcast tonight on BBC1.

Joey Barton Meant Well

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 · 21 Comments

Joey Barton’s attempts to get the Newcastle fans on his side yesterday were a little cumbersome, but we think Joey was honestly trying to ask the fans to support the players.

It’s certainly true that when fans boo the players at St. James’ Park it doesn’t help the player and it doesn’t help the team.

Newcastle Need More Great Support on Wednesday

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 · 30 Comments

Sam Allardyce has rightly thanked the traveling Newcastle fans for their magnificent support yesterday at Ewood Park, where the Newcastle faithful supported the team from the moment they arrived in the ground until they left.

While they couldn’t have been too happy at the result, the performance of the team was a gutsy one and the players certainly fought for the full 90 minutes.

Newcastle Must Turn Things Around Soon

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 · 29 Comments

The game against Arsenal on Wednesday night at St. James’ Park will be a very tough game, with Arsenal again looking to be the best team in the Premier league.

They beat a good Aston Villa side 2-1 at Villa Park yesterday, and looked what they are – the next edition of Arsene Wenger’s dominant Arsenal sides.

Big Sam Supports Joey Barton

Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 · 6 Comments

Sam Allardyce talked about the game and the commitment shown by his players yesterday, even though Newcastle got nothing out of the game at all, which was unfortunate.

Joey Barton had criticized the Newcastle fans yesterday morning, for being vicious at St. James’ Park, in an apparent bid to have the fans support them throughout this difficult period.
