Player Issues Rallying Cry – Put Things Right At Newcastle

Tuesday, July 26th, 2016 · 10 Comments

The last two seasons have been an absolute nightmare for Newcastle fans and after only just escaping relegation a year last May we thought we’d be OK last season when last summer we paid out over £50M to bring some good players in and then spent close to £30M in January to further strengthen the squad.

But the appointment of Steve McClaren by Lee Charnley and the Board as the head coach was just a terrible appointment – a disastrous appointment – and the former England manager simply wasn’t good enough.

To cut a long and painful story short – we were relegated in May.

20 year-old Jamie Sterry has looked very good for Newcastle at right-back in pre-season and he is attempting to be in the match-day squad for our first game of the Championship a week on Friday at Fulham.

There are only two pre-season friendlies left and the 20 year-old started the game at Lokeren last Saturday and he has appeared in every one of Newcastle’s three pre-season friendly games so far this summer.

These Clubs Lining Up And Already Negotiating For Sissoko

Monday, July 25th, 2016 · 72 Comments

Earlier today we reported on news in Italian publication Tuttosport and the say that European Champions Real Madrid are willing to pay €35M (about £30M) for Moussa Sissoko but that’s still £5M short of the Newcastle price for their star midfielder.

Moussa Sissoko is due back at Newcastle next Monday, but we are hoping a deal can be done before then, because the stuff (circus) surrounding Moussa is getting in the way of some important stuff.

Rafa and the players are busy preparing for our first Championship game of the season at Craven Cottage on Friday 5th August, where we really need a win to start off the season in the right way.

What Rafa Told Gini Makes Geordie And Scouser Fans Happy

Monday, July 25th, 2016 · 65 Comments

Gini Wijnaldum has revealed what Rafa told him when they talked last week about Gini potentially moving to Liverpool, who had just met Newcastle’s price of £25M for the Dutch Player of the Season in 2015, when the 25 year-old successfully captained PSV to the Dutch Championship.

Real Madrid Willing To Pay Big Money For Moussa Sissoko

Monday, July 25th, 2016 · 26 Comments

Italian outlet Tuttosport are reporting that Real Madrid are prepared to pay €35M for Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko, but perhaps they have misread the price Newcastle have put on their midfield powerhouse – it’s £35M.

With today’s exchange rate (1 euro=0.84 pounds ) €35M is about £29.4M so that’s about £5M below what Newcastle want for the French star of the Euro semi-final and final.
