Friday, August 28th, 2015 · 38 Comments

26 year-old Daryl Janmaat may find himself on the bench tomorrow for the tough game at home to Arsenal.

And with Newcastle getting an excellent point at Old Trafford last weekend, the lads have a chance of maybe going one better against the Gunners tomorrow.

McClaren – My Players Died For Newcastle Last Weekend

Friday, August 28th, 2015 · 12 Comments

Newcastle put in what turned out to be a tremendous performance at Old Trafford last Saturday to get a good 0-0 draw, and we had a three on one breakaway in stoppage time, but missed a great opportunity to come away with a win for the second time in three years in that fixture.

That came right after Chris Smalling had hit the post with a header from a corner.

Arsene Wenger In Praise Of Newcastle

Friday, August 28th, 2015 · 7 Comments

Newcastle have lost the last seven games against Arsenal, but hope reigns supreme at the moment, and we seem to be in some decent form.

If Florian Thauvin can have a good game against a team who wanted to sign him three years ago – we could even do the seemingly impossible and win this game – wouldn’t that be something.

There’ll Be More Transfers To Come For Newcastle

Thursday, August 27th, 2015 · 68 Comments

It could well be that we have seen the last player come through the door this summer, but Newcastle still have a couple of players they are said to be looking at, and it could be that they arrive before next Tuesday night at 6:00pm.

But if no other players come in, we are still very pleased that Newcastle have brought in Gini Wijnaldum, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Chancel Mbemba, Florian Thauvin and young Ivan Toney – and they cost just over £50M.

This Newcastle Player Has Come In From The Cold

Thursday, August 27th, 2015 · 63 Comments

We singed Vurnon Anita form Ajax in the summer of 2012 for £6.7M from Ajax, and he was the only senior player we signed that summer when we also brought in youngster Gael Bigirimana from Coventry for £1M.

Vurnon has never quite managed to hold down a starting position, although he played very well when it really counted in the last few games of last season,  and had an excellent game in the 2-0 win against West Ham United that finally saved us.
