McClaren Strengthens Newcastle’s Spine – But More Needed

Thursday, July 30th, 2015 · 105 Comments

It’s often said that the spine of the team – the players operating through the middle of the park, is the heart of the team and a good measure of how good a team is.

It’s interesting that Steve McClaren’s first three signings for Newcastle are a central midfielder – Georginio Wijnaldum, followed by a center-forward – Aleksandar Mitrovic, followed by a center-back finally signed today – Chancel Mbemba.

Chancel Mbemba Confirmed As Being 20 – Facts And Figures

Thursday, July 30th, 2015 · 172 Comments

Newcastle have just released some facts about their new signing Chancel Mbemba,  and the first fact about him is that he was born in Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of Congo, on 8th August, 1994.

So that makes him 20 years old and due to turn 21 in 10 days time – and that’s his official age unless we hear something different from FIFA who are making an inquiry into his age.

As we all know, there has been some controversy about his age, after as many as four birth dates  given in the past.

Newcastle Announce Chancel Mbemba Signing – “I Am Excited”

Thursday, July 30th, 2015 · 90 Comments

Newcastle have just announced the signing of center-back Chancel Mbemba from Anderlecht on a five year deal, and it looked like the FA finally gave their approval for the GBE, a full eight days after Newcastle United requested it.

But all’s well that ends well – and Mbemba is another terrific signing for Newcastle this summer, and another £8.5M paid out which takes our spending on three players up to £35.5M – not a bad start.

Rolando Aarons Picks Up An Injury

Thursday, July 30th, 2015 · 16 Comments

Before you read this see the note at the bottom says that Rolando has tweeted the reason he limped off last night was due to cramps,  and it’s nothing more serious than that – but in this report you can tell how nervous we are about Rolando getting injured again – he looks such a great young player.

Hopefully, he can play on Saturday against Borussia Monchengladbach – so with that – read on about our concerns about injuries in general at Newcastle.

One of the things that we must improve on this season is our injury record – but it’s already not looking good on Physioroom because we already have six injuries, and that’s joint top of the league with Everton, so we are again flying high – although that’s not the right way to say it.

Shearer – Newcastle Could Still Struggle If We Sell Players

Thursday, July 30th, 2015 · 18 Comments

Alan Shearer has said that Newcastle will improve from last season, but we were simply terrible in that second half of the season under John Carver – it was a living nightmare for fans as we got one point in 10 games and lost eight games in a row.

John Carver seemed to lose touch with reality at the time and he kept saying he must be in pole position for the head coach job, just as Newcastle were dropping down the table and only survived the drop on the last day of the season.

What a disaster.
