If Benitez Keeps Us Up – He Will Have A Free Rein

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 · 93 Comments

Rafa Benitez is nobody´s fool and he is a workaholic who simply lives and breathes football.

He had an eye on Newcastle for at least a couple of years with word coming out of Italy when he was at Naples that he could be interested in becoming the Newcastle manager.

We never believed those reports, but it now looks like they were true.

It turns out Rafa wanted to manage back in England and the Premier League,  so he was close to his wife and two daughters in the Wirral, just outside of Liverpool.

If Newcastle Go Down – Alternatives To Selling Best Players

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 · 169 Comments

If Newcastle are relegated then the major question every Newcastle fan will be asking is will Rafa Benitez stay – and we’ll not know that until after the final game of the season on May 15th – and we may even avoid relegation.

Rafa is right in only concentrating on saving Newcastle and he will not answer the question on whether he will leave if we do take the drop.

That will keep the players on their toes that if they want Rafa next season to be coaching them and maybe starting to create a dynasty at Newcastle – then they should be playing out of their skins in the last three games.

Benitez On How Newcastle Will Play In Final Three Games

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 · 19 Comments

It took the man some time to get over the hurdle of too many of our players lacking confidence and having a losing mentality.

But Rafa Benitez has had his Newcastle side playing very well in the last three games and we have picked up 5 of the 6 points during those games after picking up just one point in the first four games.

Now the big hope among Newcastle fans is that out players can rise to the occasion this season in the last three games and play out of their skins to win all three games against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Tottenham.

Benitez Seems Impressed With This Newcastle Youngster

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 · 81 Comments

Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez seems to like what he sees in 20 year-old Kevin Mbabu who is now fit again and was on on the bench at Liverpool.

When Kevin has played for the Newcastle first team – five times this season – he has looked good,  but he has again been injured most of the season.

But the fact that Rafa had him on the bench at Anfield when other more senior players were not, suggests Rafa can see the  potential in the Swiss U19 International.

Why Newcastle Must Not Allow This With Summer Transfers

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016 · 84 Comments

Newcastle spent £52M last summer on transfers and even when we didn´t have a manager the transfer business went merrily along with Graham Carr identifying the players who were coming into the club – whether they were necessary or not.

So we signed Gini Wijnaldum, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Chancel Mbemba and Florian Thauvin whether the Newcastle manager approved of those transfers or not.

And since we are now second bottom of the league with three games to go and we brought in another four players for £29M in January, Newcastle´s transfer budget was not well spent this season.

That´s a massive understatement.
