It’s An Amazing Feeling Playing In Front Of Newcastle Fans

Thursday, July 30th, 2015 · 54 Comments

There’s a good reason why Newcastle fans are some of the best in the world, and half the gate of over 5,000 last night at Bootham Crescent in York were Newcastle fans who had traveled the 90 miles to watch a Newcastle second team play.

It wasn’t until an hour before the kick-off that they knew for sure that Aleksandar Mitrovic, our new signing from Anderlecht, would be playing – but it would have been a good guess.

McClaren – This Player Still Plays A Vital Role

Thursday, July 30th, 2015 · 252 Comments

Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini has yet to play in pre-season, but Steve McClaren thinks the center-back is close to full fitness, and he has had a little niggle that has kept him out of all the games so far this summer.

McClaren is impressed with Colo’s professionalism and form in training, and the Argentine was at the game last night at York as he watched from the stands.

Newcastle Hope To Get Transfer Business Moving Today

Thursday, July 30th, 2015 · 24 Comments

Steve McClaren is hoping that Chancel Mbemba’s delayed signing will finally be completed today, when the three man committee of the FA will finally get around to meeting to give the player their approval, so that he can then get a visa.

With Newcastle waiting almost a week for that to happen, hopefully everything else is in place to get the deal sealed as soon as today.

McClaren On Aleksandar Mitrovic – He’s A Bit Of A Devil

Thursday, July 30th, 2015 · 14 Comments

Steve McClaren stressed after the game, that Aleksandar Mitrovic had only one day training ahead of last night’s game at York, and the plan was to play him only for the first half,  but the 20 year-old wanted to play on, and so McClaren gave him another 25 minutes until he was taken off after 70 minutes.

Newcastle Trying To Close Deals For Four Players

Wednesday, July 29th, 2015 · 153 Comments

Newcastle United are reported to be still interested in signing Florian Thauvin, even though a £12M bid by the Magpies was turned down by Marseilles,  who are said to value their winger at £15M.

That’s not a huge gap to close, so maybe a slightly higher bid by Newcastle could still clinch the deal, although Tottenham are now said to also be interested.
