These Are Eight Players Not In Rafa Benitez’ Future Plans

Monday, June 27th, 2016 · 6 Comments

The Newcastle players not involved with Internationals this summer will be returning for pre-season training this week and we expect a number of them not to be Newcastle players come September.

Rafa will want to take a look at some of the players who were out on loan last season, such as Sammy Ameobi, Gael Bigirimana and Haris Vuckic, but it looks like there are at least eight players who are simply not in Rafa’s plans for Newcastle in the future and surplus to requirements.

Rafa’s Goal – Best, Biggest, Fittest And Balanced

Monday, June 27th, 2016 · 9 Comments

Rafa Benitez wants to add some experience to the squad this summer and the word coming out of the local papers is that he also wants to “balance” the squad.

A number of reports suggest that means Rafa wants to bring in more British players to a squad that has been dominated by mediocre French players for far too long.

And that could be accurate, as we have been linked with a number of British players this summer.

Let’s Hope Another Newcastle Player Does Not Go On Strike

Monday, June 27th, 2016 · 8 Comments

Rafa Benitez is reported to be keen to bring up to four new players into the squad this week as the pre-season training will begin for what will be a crucial season for the Magpies in the Championship.

And we should see all but those players involved in Internationals return this week for pre-season training.

Still no sign of our first signing this summer, even though on Friday there were reports in the local papers that the first signing would be within a short 48 hours.

It didn’t happen.

Local Lad Keen To Make A Difference Next Season

Monday, June 27th, 2016 · 47 Comments

20-year-old Geordie Jamie Sterry made his Premier League debut in the final game of the season against Tottenham – when we took them apart 5-1 at St. James’ Park – and the local lad has impressed manager Rafa Benitez.

One of the many areas Rafa is looking to overhaul and get working at the club is the Youth Academy, so we can get a steady stream of good young players coming through to the first team.

And Rafa will have taken a good look at some of the young players he has right now and will have seen that right-back Jamie is one who is near the first team.

Rafa Benitez A Role Model And Example To His Players

Monday, June 27th, 2016 · 4 Comments

Rafa Benitez shocked Alan Shearer in May when the Spanish manager decided to stay on at Newcastle and manage in the second division of England, after he was manager of Real Madrid – one of the iconic clubs in world football – less than a year ago.

Alan didn’t think a manager of such esteem as Rafa would be willing to go down with the club – but he did – and the Newcastle manager did a good job of shrugging off questions about that from the media saying he simply wanted to coach – that’s what he liked doing.
