New Signing Desperately Wants More Playing Time

Gini Wijnaldum started the game on Tuesday night against Portland Timbers, and within six minutes he had scored a nice goal that was beautifully set up by Rolando Aarons, who it’s fair to say was the star man of the tour, and certainly the star in that particular game with two brilliant goals within two minutes of each other in the second half.

Steve McClaren – Newcastle Is Unique – It’s Like A Religion

Saturday, July 25th, 2015 · 55 Comments

Steve McClaren joined Newcastle United in early June, the day after both John Carver and Steve Stone has been sacked, and Steve and his coaching team ever since then have been like a breath of fresh air for Geordie fans.

And couple that with our acquisition of Gini Wijnaldum, Aleksandar Mitrovic and hopefully Chancel Mbemba today, and things are starting to look up.

Inter-Milan manager Roberto Mancini bought both Davide Santon from Newcastle and Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern Munich in January, but he has admitted that one of them must be sold this summer, because he will not have room for both of them in his 25 man Inter-Milan squad for next season.

Budding Star Can Fulfill His Potential At Newcastle

Friday, July 24th, 2015 · 117 Comments

With the social media these days all around, where news goes viral in an instant,  it must be very difficult for young players – who by their very age are still becoming men – so it’s much easier these days than in days of old for great young players to go off the rails, and never fulfill their potential.

Steve McClaren is well aware of all that, which is why he has a good record of bringing young players through at the clubs he’s been at – and he has what has to be a really top prospect in 19 year-old Rolando Aarons,  who shone on the US tour – just like he did in pre-season last year.

Newcastle’s Strategy To Get Austin Could Work

Friday, July 24th, 2015 · 112 Comments

QPR manager Chris Ramsey has been talking to TALKsport today and he’s talked about – what else – the sale of their top striker Charlie Austin.

But QPR may be being too greedy in trying to get the most money for their striker, and Chris has said they have already turned down a £12M bid (presumably by Leicester City) for the 26 year-old.
