Alan Shearer In Stark Criticism Of Rivals

Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 · 8 Comments

Alan Shearer reported yesterday on Sunderland being 2-0 up after an hour in their home game with Crystal Palace yet they couldn’t hang onto their lead and a goal deep into injury time from Christian Benteke led to their 5th defeat in the first six games.

After such a disastrous start this season confidence cannot be high at the Back Cats and the players became nervous towards the end of the game and seemed to lack concentration.

Star Player Finally Settles In At Newcastle

Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 · 6 Comments

Matt Ritchie likes playing two games a week and he certainly doesn’t seem to regret his move one little bit from Bournemouth to Newcastle.

Matt was only too keen to join the Rafa Revolution at Newcastle in the summer and he was one of the first players we signed once Andros Townsend told the manager he didn’t want to play for Newcastle in the second division.

Matt’s great form so far this season is one reason we haven’t missed Townsend much at all this season.

We’ve Dusted Ourselves Down – Preparing For Norwich

Monday, September 26th, 2016 · 7 Comments

Paul Dummett returned to the team on Saturday at Villa Park after having been rested on Tuesday night in the good 2-0 win against Wolves in the EFL  Cup when Achraf Lazaar made his debut.

We threw away 2 points on Saturday but in those six minutes of stoppage time it could even have ended up that we threw all 3 points away – but we came away with the draw.

But it was a huge disappointment to concede a minute or so before the end of normal time.

Young Defender Still Dreams Of Newcastle Future

Rafa Benitez is an experienced manager who transformed Newcastle’s squad over the summer transfer window and the team is still gelling but if we keep improving like we have so far this season we could become a really top side quite soon.

That’s the hope anyway as Rafa gets to grips with his new players and we certainly brought in some bargains over the summer – players like Matt Ritchie, DeAndre Yedlin, Grant Hanley, Isaac Hayden, Ciaran Clark and Mo Diame to name only six.

Di Matteo Praises Villa – Has Good Words For Newcastle Too

Monday, September 26th, 2016 · 29 Comments

We’ve always thought Roberto Di Matteo was a very good manager from the time he was the young 39 year-old manager of West Brom, when we were both pushing for promotion in the 2009-2010 and both achieved the two automatic promotion spots with Newcastle finally coming out on top with 102 points.

It seems as if it will not that easy this time around, but that first half performance – even the first 70 minutes – saw Newcastle play some good stuff but we missed far too many of our chances.

The game should have been won at half time – but it wasn’t.
