Newcastle Enter Race For Exciting Argentine Winger

Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 · 114 Comments

Football site TMW are reporting that Newcastle are now after 20 year-old top Monaco winger Lucas  Ocampos.

Newcastle have been scouting Monaco this year – and we have been interested in their Algerian International center-back Aymen Abdennour – but maybe we have also been watching their 20 year-old Argentine winger – who played 26 times with four goals for Monaco last season.

Cynicism Grows At Newcastle

Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 · 20 Comments

There is a lot of cynicism among Newcastle fans this summer, and it hasn’t been helped by Newcastle’s slow start in this summer’s transfer market,  although there’s still plenty of time for Newcastle to get the six players in (or something close to that) we need to have a good team next season.

While we were not overjoyed by Steve McClaren’s appointment earlier this month – we’ve been surprised what a good standing he has with players and coaches in the game, and we always knew he was a real gentleman – that was never a problem with Steve.

Steve has gone through hell and high water in his coaching career but has always kept his dignity.

Newcastle Star Confident Of Big Improvements

Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 · 99 Comments

Daryl Janmaat was our best player last season in his very first season on Tyneside, and it could be that he becomes the Newcastle captain next season, after he showed some excellent leadership skills both on and off the field.

Newcastle Have Recently Bid For Three Players

Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 · 34 Comments

The Chronicle is reporting today that Newcastle have three bids in for players, with one of them being for Schalke center-back Joel Matip.

We assume another one is for Marseilles winger Florian Thauvin,  and maybe the other one is for Bas Dost or even Charlie Austin – although that’s just a guess.

Cathro – It’s A Step Forward Joining Newcastle

Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 · 7 Comments

Ian Cathro has given an interview to BBC Sport and we expect him to be announced today as part of Steve McClaren’s new coaching team – just a day before the players report back for pre-season training tomorrow.

Certainly Ian is very ambitious and seems to have his career laid out in front of him – at least in his own mind – and he sees himself being a head coach down the line – but not too far down the line.

Newcastle Bid For Bas Dost Nowhere Near Wolfsburg Valuation

Monday, June 29th, 2015 · 61 Comments

Wolfsburg Sporting Director Klaus Allofs at Bundesliga club Wolfsburg has given his opinion on the Newcastle offer for one of our top targets Bas Dost – and it looks like Newcastle are going about their business a sin the past by putting in very low bids – and sometimes the bid is so low that they start to lose credibility with the selling team.

That may have happened with our offer for Bas Dost, and Klaus Allofs has talked to SoccerNews and what he’s said doesn’t sound too good for Newcastle, and he compares the Newcastle offer to Liverpool’s offer for Roberto Firmino which was a massive £29M and successful:
