All Things Have Come Together For Me At Newcastle

Thursday, May 26th, 2016 · 19 Comments

Rafa Benitez was appointed as the new Newcastle manager for at least three years yesterday and he gave a press conference at 7:00 pm last night and then gave a few more interviews and was able to cover a lot of information – including why he decided to stay at Newcastle – a second division club – even though he turned down some big money offers to take the challenge at Newcastle.

Rafa sees Newcastle as another Liverpool – but maybe even a bigger opportunity since there’s only one club in the football mad city of Newcastle upon Tyne.

And Newcastle,  unlike Liverpool, hasn’t won a trophy since 1969 and hasn’t won a domestic trophy since way back in 1955 when we demolished Manchester City 3-1 in the FA Cup final – a game my parents were at.

Benitez Could Be Interested In This Real Madrid Defender

Thursday, May 26th, 2016 · 52 Comments

Rafa Benitez will scour the free agent market this summer for some signings he can make at Newcastle – and we already know that his former center-back at Liverpool, 31 year-old Daniel Agger is available this summer after seeing out his two year contract at Brondby, after he left Liverpool two years ago.

Another one of his former players – Alvaro Arbeloa – is also a free agent at Real Madrid and he played for Rafa at both Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Unbelievable – Rafa’s Wife And Two Daughters Key In Decision

Thursday, May 26th, 2016 · 24 Comments

There are stories being circulated on how Rafa’s wife and two daughters had an awful lot to do with getting Rafa Benitez to stay on at Newcastle United.

Rafa’s wife Maria de Montserrat and their two daughters Claudia and Agata Benitez have been imploring Rafa to stay on Tyneside, when it was very obvious to them that the people of Newcastle simply loved him.

The two girls were at the Liverpool – Newcastle game on 23rd April when we went 2-0 down but then made that fantastic second half come-back to draw that game 2-2 = and the Geordie fans at the game were in full song throughout the 90 minutes.

Charnley Talks About Phenomenal World-Class Rafa Benitez

Thursday, May 26th, 2016 · 35 Comments

We heard Managing Director Lee Charnley speak for the very first time last night as we watched him on nufcTV talk about Rafa Benitez.

We suppose since he was born in Lancashire it isn’t too surprising he has a Lancashire accent.

It seems Rafa has taken to Charnley, who seems to have been so helpful to the former Liverpool manager that was one of the things that persuaded him to stay on at Newcastle and Rafa said more than once last night he has a (very) good relationship with Lee and likes working with him.

Alan Shearer Surprised Rafa Is Staying At Newcastle

Thursday, May 26th, 2016 · 8 Comments

Alan Shearer has been telling everybody who would listen to him for a few weeks now there was no way that Rafa Benitez would stay at Newcastle and manage a second division club, when he would have big offers coming in from all over the place.

But that’s what the Spanish manager has done as he seems to have fallen in love with Newcastle and the fans and yes – he did have some big money offers come in for his services.

It says something about Rafa that he has stayed on Tyneside and no wonder the fans simply love the man, who will transform the club.
