Keven Keegan has made a couple of changes from the side which was beaten by Manchester United last weekend.
Jose Enrique comes in for Charles N’Zogbia at left back and Charles drops to the bench. Steve Harper of course replaces the injured Shay Given in goal. Jose will probably be marking Blackburn’s impressive David Bentley.
Damien Duff plays against the club he spent 7 seasons with, and Nicky Butt, Joey Barton and James Milner complete our midfield four. With Emre and Viduka still out injured, Kevin had his hands tied a little as far as the team selection for this week.
Oba Martins returns to the bench with Alan Smith, as half expected, again partnering Newcastle captain Michael Owen up front.
Jose Enrique – gets a rare start today
It seems that Kevin is keeping faith with most of the players that have failed to capture a win for him in the last few games. We’re pleased to see 22 year old Jose given a chance, and we trust he will take it.
Andy Carroll is again on the bench, and will no doubt be given a run out in the second half. Andy did very well last week and set up Abdoulaye Faye’s goal nicely. Fraser Forster comes in as substitute goalkeeper with Shay being out injured.
Charles N’Zogbia who makes a rare appearance on the bench will be useful as a substitute. He can come on and give some penetration up front if we need that during the game, and we’re sure he’ll get a good reception from the Newcastle faithful.
Come on the lads!

Comment #82“The Newcastle defence are showing signs of nerves now. To be fair, matters weren’t helped when Butt gave away the ball needlessly.”
