Newcastle Building Huge Dossier On Potential Signings

The Newcastle scouting staff are building up a huge dossier of players from across the world, that seem to be of the ability or youth to be interesting to the club.

Kevin Keegan – huge dossier of players being built by the scouting staff

We have been linked with so many players this summer already, that it’s little short of ridiculous.

But at some point the scouting staff and Kevin Keegan will have to shorten their list significantly and make some definite approaches for players.

It seems that has only happened once this time around sp far, and we lost out to Spurs for Croatian midfielder Luka Modric.

But we have been linked with several top players including striker Bafe Gomis of St. Etienne, who looked really good with two goals for France last night in Paris, in his debut game for his country.

At some point we are going to need to be aggressive in the market.

But it does seem that the Euro 2008 finals will be completed first before we make some big moves, and that’s over 4 weeks away.

However, reports over the last 48 hours suggest we are in for Toulouse and Cameroon midfielder Achille Emana for around £6M (the fee varies), and by all accounts he is very willing to join Newcastle.

In order for us to have next season be what we need, we have to sign at the very least four good players while keeping most of the players in the squad we currently have.

The exceptions in our existing squad would be Ameobi and Rozehnal, who have proved they aren’t really good enough for where Kevin wants to take the club.

It would be nice if we could get a good signing under our belts before Euro 2008 starts on June 7th, but we suppose we have to be patient, because there’s still lots and lots of time before August 31st.

But that doesn’t stop us from getting itchy feet.   😀

Comments welcome.

The longer we wait, the harder it could get.

We need to get a few players in now for several reasons:

    1) Show the current squad our intent (i.e. help keep our good players)

    2) Show potential signings our intent

    3) Appease the fans

    4) Get the new players settled to give us a good start to the season

Ed you may aswell add Smith to that list as he brings nothing to our team I’d aslo add capacca again not gonna feature and costing thousands every week. I have been happy with the players we are linked with but i would like to see a few solid bids going in. It’s all welll and good for the scouting staff preparing detailed dossiers of all the players we want but while they’re wrighting things down other clubs are bidding and buying these players.
I love being off work sick haha

How can you say Rozenthal isn’t good enough. He had a few games under the tactical genius that was SA and then was packed off on loan. Do you think the same might have happened to Vidic if he had came to us instead of ManU. He might be a hopeless player but I for one would like to see him given a chance.

As for this “Dossier” I can just see how it reads:-

    SWP……………………..Blackburn/Man City

    Feel free to add others

KK speaking to DW, “It’s a nice list but you have to actually bid for them Dennis”

We need to sign Torosidis he is one of the only players that we’ve been linked to with the right versaility. His main positions are DM (fills in there), LB (plays there for Greece), RB (Play there for Olympiakos) and LM/RM, great versatility and a great player for 4 mil and hes only just turned 23.

A bit pessimistic on this transfer window to be honest. Ah well, I expect us to wait until Euro 08 is over tho, to be able to pay maximum price possible.

The article is called “The Arda panic”.

In one week time or so Galatasaray is expecting board members of Newcastle United to knock on their door for Arda Turan once again. In the talks that happened during the past week Adnan Polat demanded about 16.5m euros for Arda. It is also known that Tottenham is interested for the player.

Newcastle United seem to be drawing closer to Arda. The English team’s representatives are closely watching Arda, even the friendly matches he plays in, and seems to have more of an apetite for him than before. The Newcastle board seems to want to make a move for Arda before the European Championships in case his price may go up too much.

“huge dossier of players being built by the scouting staff”.

By the time Wise and his 21 year old boy scout have finished playing championship manager and making lists and lists anyone of any quality will have been bought.

Useless bunch of pricks..huge dossier..my ass!

Show the fans some respect Fat Ash and splash your Cash.

    We need a minimum £60m NOW !!!!!!!!!

Forget USA kids and buy some pro’s from the “huge dossier”.

    Totally agree GG7 :

We really need to push forward for:
    Turan, Veloso, and Gomez!!

The mirror and other reports are saying Bruce wants N’zogbia at Wigan for 3.5million dont make me laugh!!

Ashley and the resigme are interested in the qualities that zog has , and he’s French why would we sell him 4 that price! + he’s still got 4 years left on his contract!!

sick of all the bull the papers come out with!!!

    Yawn, this is so boring.

Why not just wait until someone fronts up at SJP in a Black n White shirt, grinning like a cat, with KK shaking his hand. At that point and ONLY at that point, will we have actually signed a new player.

Might be this month, may be June, most likely it will be July and August. Its got the makings of a looooooong summer!!

The only reason why the club may be interested is to open up NUFC to the states!!
Ashley tryng to make us a global brand like ManU, etc

Do you think SMITH should stay to make us a better team?
Duff and Smith can go asap. Ridiculous wages for no product.
Whats this dossier nonsense? That sounds to me that they will sound many players out and hopefully hook somebody. NUFC should know the four top players they want and go after them. It belittles the club to have a list of players and hope to sign a few. I call it dithering and is a sign of weakness. We’ll end up with rubbish at this rate. No change there then!

Has anybody any idea what that Cockney ……person Wise does for his money? We are obviously paying him more money than he got as Leeds manager. He is supposed to sign players isn’t he? Any signings? Thought not. Now I understand …he gets paid a fortune to live in Bucks and to do nothing else. Not bad money if you can get it. Only NUFC could dream that one up.

60M and we get a sniff at a UEFA spot.
Sack off Duff (lost it ages ago),Smith (pointless),Ameobi(Shite), N’Zogbia (if he wants to go and the money is decent sell).

I think Ashley will spend similar to the first pot he gave Big Sam..which was pretty small and spend a few quid on kids and play the “build for the future card” Great excuse for being tight and using the club as a cash cow.
