Emre Officially Leaves Newcastle United

News today coming through is that Turkish International Emre has been officially unveiled by Fenerbahce, after the club today announced the midfielder had signed a four-year deal.

emre-5757.jpg

Emre – finally joins Fenerbahce

The deal between the Turkish powerhouse club and Newcastle was announced during the Euro 2008 Championships.

The actual closing of the deal was held up so the player could complete his National Service.

Under Turkish law, any citizen who has lived outside the country for up to three years has to spend 15 months in the national service, but anyone returning after more than three years living abroad, which is the specific case of Emre, has to sign up for only 21 days of basic military training.

We assume Emre has now completed that training.

There was never any doubt that the Emre deal would finally be completed, we just had to wait a few weeks.

And speaking on signing for the Turks, Emre said:

“For many years I have tried to represent Turkish football in Europe.

“I am very happy to have come to Fenerbahce, and I hope I will serve this club for years.”

The player’s fee is yet to be disclosed, and most reports have it around £4M.

Emre was a very good player, but he was injured too much to have the major impact  we would have liked.

With Newcastle now owned by Mike Ashley, there’s no legal requirement to say what the fee was.

Comments welcome.

@MAG PIE, we’d better ask KK for the Spear’s transfer. In fact, in another “reliable” source wikipedia, Spear is already listed as one of our players, and we actually saw some Spear guy saying he’s moving up to the Tyneside.

Heres my top four positions/players .. all obtainable by keegan
Warnock (back up for the bull)
    Collicini (preferable)/Cuellar(actual)
    Diego(preferable)/Fernandez/Moutinho
    Pandev/Darren Bent/Derdiyok/

If we can get players of that calibre in them positions .. Keegan could work wonders..

OK I will now settle, Mr Ashley, for this

    Harper
    Beye
    Taylor
    Faye
    Enrique
    Jonas
    Ledley
    Butt
    Arda
    Owen
    Viduka

    Subs
    Krul
    Cacapa
    Warnock
    Duff
    Milner
    Martins
    Carroll

This is my bottom line. I mean it.

MAG PIE .. not too sure on that one .. midfiled is a bit lightweight .. it should be

    Owen – Viduka
    Duff – Diego – Butt – Jonas
    Bull – Collucini – Taylor – Beye

@sweendog, but I mind N’Zogbia’s included in part of the deal who can act as emergency left back.

I think Guthrie is not backing up Butt… but they gonna just share the playing time in even.

although close call between them .. experience against skill .. but it is the DM position so experience wins IMO

If guthrie shines in pre season why not .. but you have to be sceptical throwing him in the deep end .. ie Man U etc although I’m rating him more and more

sweendog – deep end? Guthrie started against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup last year – which they drew 2 – 2

guthrie is good .. but DM is alot to do with intelligence/experience as well .. lets watch the next few games and if he can hold and win balls and do well in most of them games then yes .. he’s ahead of butt .. but at the moment Butt wins by a small margin.

Man U is alot tougher than Bayern IMO .. also bolton had nothing to lose .. they were underdogs .. whereas you ahve to say we expect alot from our players .. so its usualy better to blood them in slowly.

sweendog – true but I don’t really think we have much to lose – no one really expects to get anything out of that game anyway

keegan expects something I reckon .. Man U lately have been poor starters in the premiership .. so I’m expecting a draw .. all dependant on who we sign and how early we get them in ..

£23million they offered for Taino (worth £2m) Chimbonda (£5m if he behaves) Kaboul (£3m?) and Malbranque (£5m tops)

    KNOBS!!!!!

Plus Chimbonda comes with Willie Mackay in tow so give it time and he’ll want a move

Tainio could be good .. Kaboul is good but too slow .. malbranque ( we could do with him in midfield) .. chimp bonda (heads up his ar*e) but I agree definately too much money for them boys..

    Kaboul is quick.

Kaboul – Potential to be brilliant at he is quite poor.
Tainio – Good but injury prone.
Malbranque – Good, but a work horse who lacks cutting edge.
    Chimbonda – Just an idiot!

Alright lads, 25 days until the ManUre match and 41 days until the close of the transfer window. That means, to achieve Kev’s requested 4 transfers, we’ll have to make one every ten days…At the going rate the chances look quite slim. I’m fine with slow news days, but today is yet ANOTHER day closer to the close of the window. Time is seriously ticking, and when senior players like Super Shay are coming out saying “we need some ****ing players” that doesn’t put the old smile on my face…

Tom toon .. not sure how quick kaboul is .. when I watched him he looked cumbersome and slow .. but that could be because his position sense was awefull..
malbranque sometimes looks a bit of a skill spot but 5 mill is tops you would pay for him ..
Most importantly though Scunderland have signed chimbonda .. shocking signing..

If we can make signings like we did with Spiderman out of the blue then we can easily do four more in the next 40 days or so. It would be ideal to have every new face in before the Manure game but that looks unlikely. Last summer we signed two players in literally the closing minutes of the window. I’m still confident after Keegan’s recent comments. Signings drag on nowadays, we’ll just have to be patient but I agree that it is so difficult because with no footy being played, transfer news is all we have.

hopfeully we can get a bargain .. but Center back and Attacking Center midfield .. hard to get cheap quality signings there.. especially as the signings we are looking will be 1st teamers and not subs.

Edgar- i think eveyone has turned on arshavin cos it looks as though he could be going to tottenham. I agree he is the business and we should at least be bidding for him.

Having said that , he would cost all of our transfer kitty and if he got injured we would be up shit creak.

Does this sound like something an NUFC fan will say!?

Nice try spyro/fernando. You really are a mug!!
