Charles N’Zogbia has again been talking to his legion of adoring fans around the world through the press, and he has now confirmed he will be moving to Wigan Athletic.
Charles N’Zogbia – moving to Wigan – thank goodness
And it is indeed confirmed that he has chosen the Lancashire town to play his football in the future. The Mayor of Wigan is expected to meet with the great one early next week.
According to L’Equipe, N’Zogbia has confirmed he is heading to Wigan and that a deal has almost been completed.
The youngster, who is also his own greatest fan said:
“There are still things to be finalized, but it will be sorted out on Saturday when my agent arrives in England. “
“I’m relieved. ” “Fortunately for me, the club have found an agreement with Wigan, who wanted one of their players. Good news.”
Reports in today’s papers have suggested that Wigan will be willing to pay a fee in the region of £6M for the French Under-21 International, with Ryan Taylor moving the other way.
Speaking about Kinnear, N’Zogbia admitted he had been annoyed that his Irish manager had got his name wrong but insisted he now bore no grudges, now that the baby has got his own way:
“In his press conference, he called me not ‘N’Zogbia’ but ‘insomnia’,” “It showed a lack of respect, but that’s okay.”
“I don’t have anything against him.” “I do not forget that Newcastle is the club that gave me my chance in professional football,”
“Today, I leave without any regrets.”
Charles also told his legion of fans why he was moving to Wigan Athletic, when 25 other clubs, including we understand Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United had been clamoring to sign him, and that’s was only yesterday.
Charles explained why he had chosen Wigan:
“It is a club that has targets and is much more ambitious than Newcastle.”
Oh that’s the reason.
Arsene Wenger has been rumored as being very upset that Charles got away from his club as he was reported to have said today
“I like Charles and have been interested in him ever since he was born.”:
“And of course he is French so a very good player.”
I would have gone for him but I thought Newcastle were asking what he’s worth – £29M.”
Charles, we speak for many Newcastle fans when we thank you for showing us your worldly skills at Newcastle over the last four years ago, and for all your comments in the press and the way you have bad mouthed the club that has given you your chance in the Premier League.
It’s always a joy when our players are so thankful for what the Newcastle club, who get 50,00 fans at their home games, has done for them.
Good riddance, you little brat.
Comments welcome.

Comment #42To be honest, I feel a little sad that he feels we have somehow let him down. Most of us prefer the talking to be done on the pitch. He was and still is a great prospect but why he sees Wigan as a step forward is puzzling. I can’t help feeling that if we still had Sir Bobby in charge the situation wouldn’t have been allowed to get to where it was. Man management is so important in the goldfish bowl of football clubs. The current managment at all levels seem to be a little deficient in this aspect.

Credit crunch or just the price?

Comment #44on ssn on tayor and zog swap-
Taylor, another left-sided player, has been successful in games against Newcastle in recent years.
so seems like hes a lefty unless they have made a mistake
so direct replacement for zogs but a better defender

Taylor can play at left-back, but he is predominantly a right-wingback.

Comment #49If you look at the other blog about our wonderful management team ringing around premier clubs on the hope of getting a midfiled player then you will realise that they had no intentions of bringing in any midfielders until Barton got crocked. Nolan is in now so that is it I’m afraid. All the talk of Velosso etc is a great big pile of steaming shite.

I agree fully with the title of the article. How can someone getting that much money complain so much?
Given’s situation is the same. He KNOWS we are in the sh*t and doesn’t NEED to leave in January. Epecially considering that £5m isn’t financially lucrative enough to justify his loss from the team. Sorry but i think he is also as guilty as Charlie, he just isn’t as publically vocal.

Comment #65Why do I think this is worng??
Where are the goals going to come from?
We are almost hanging everything on Carroll making premiership grade, actually the Owen grade.
If Oba keeps scoring at his usual rate, Nolan scores the same amount as Zog did, Jonas, Duff and the rest do not improve we have not moved forward at all, we need goalscorers, if we let someone who averages 6 in the premiership out, unless the replacement averages 7 or more it is no improvement, Zog scored and provided good assists, we need a very good Zog replacement and I do not think £6m will do that.
With those players we are barely above relegation, I am hopiong for a couple of goalscoring signings even if they are defenders who score to counter that Zog goals loss.

The other problem is if we are relegated some players might worry in a recession about getting another place, wouldnt like to be unemployed after their lifestyle.

Comment #78Ed is right, he’s been a baby. There are certain players you can force to stay – but IMO he’s not one of them.
He would’ve sulked, and he certainly wouldn’t have shut his big mouth. He was desperate to leave – good riddance. Smart move getting him out the door.

Comment #79Hold on and don’t laugh too soon. This war of words was only petty nonsense.
I’ll put up with a lot as long as a player tries hard on the pitch, and in fairness, Zog mostly did that.
Put another way, I’d rather read about moaning in the press from good performers, than see shite on the pitch from those who profess undying love for the toon badge. and we’ve had a few of them.
Also I haven’t forgotten that at the moment, Newcastle United is NOT showing the ambition it should, it IS badly run, and if the culprits were to be lined up asnd shot, Zog would be well down my list.
Like Shay Given, although with a lot less dignity, Zog is leaving because we just are NOT good enough. Maybe Wigan are showing more ambition. they are certainly beating us where it matters – in the league table.
Zog played a good few games out of position at LB without demur. So he should. But he knows he’s no LB and so do NUFC fans. Yet how long has the paucity of LB options been allowed to roll on from one transfer window to the next?
We have had far too many managers. Zog has seen at least 6, not counting caretakers in 4 years at Gallowgate. That is a disgrace, and a huge waste of time, planning and severance payments. It also undermines the authority any manager has with young players like Zog, who must wonder ‘how long will this one last?’
So while N’Somnia’s limo pulls away, we’d be foolish not to stop a minute and think about why we are losing this talented player, the latest in a line includiing Parker, Jenas, Bellamy and Given who’ve had enough. We must learn from it or it will keep happening.

Comment #80what a great deal again by the newcastle transfer crew. 6 million and a very reliable versatile full back for an average winger who 1/10 games does something worthwile. they dont get enough credit.
