There is news today on uefa.com today thatFabio Zamblera, Newcastle United 18 year-old striker is off on loan to Italian Club Sampdoria.
Fabio Zamblera – sent on loan to Sampdoria
The news that’s on the web site is that UEFA Cup hopefuls UC Sampdoria have bolstered their squad with the double signing of teenager Fabio Zamblera and Italy Under-18 captain Roberto Soriano
The 18-year-old Zamblera, a 6’3″ striker, arrives on loan from Newcastle United FC with the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
We haven’t seen much of Zamblera in the Reserves so perhaps he’s not developing as well as Newcastle would have liked.
Of course we have Andy Carroll at 20, and up-and-coming Nile Ranger at 17, who are both top young strikers, with Carroll already performing well in the first team.
Fabio was signed last January, on a four and a hald year deal, for an undisclosed fee from Atalanta.
He has represented Italy at Under-18 levels, and presumably could join Sampdoria in the summer if he plays well in the interim.
We would expect Newcastle United to make this official on their web site.

Comment #41I think colo will probably miss out against baggies but carrol will be ok. Martins wont start but he and smith will sit on the bench i expect. Personally i hope lovenkrads does start in a forward role because when martins doesnt play we lose a HUGE asset pace wise. Watching the game against sunderland the obvious problem was we were hitting balls up to the front two that have zero pace and could only hold the ball up. With martins you can put in through balls for him to chase and stretch opponents. I think whilst he isnt playing lovenkrads could does this

Comment #42Measured and optimistic post Sporting. I would agree generally but the manner we went about the window (“I’m about to sign THIS guy”) didn’t give me much hope.
Hope the rumors of Wise going and Bruce coming are correct!
Also, I really hope Krul gets a chance before the season is over, would be nice to think we let Given go expecting Krul to fill in but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Krul is sold on still and we are forced to see him blossom at another club.
Don’t mind the name-calling haters Loydie, I appreciate the insight (even if it’s not) 🙂
