Kevin Nolan has come out today and said it is vital for the future of the Newcastle club, that Alan Shearer is appointed the new long-term manager.
Kevin Nolan – vital that Shearer stays at Newcastle
January signing Kevin Nolan from Bolton wants Shearer to stay on – and he told the Daily Telegraph today:
“The more he’s settled into the job, I think the more and more he wants to keep it now.”
“To be honest, I think he’s the only one who will get the time and the money to get things right, the way he wants.”
“If Alan does walk away, anyone who takes the job will probably be fighting a losing battle.”
“It would be so hard for them. So it’s a must now that he does carry on, for the sake of us players as much as anything so we don’t have another seven managers in two years or something.”
It’s very obvious the Newcastle players would be delighted if Alan stays on, and it really doesn’t give owner Mike Ashley much of a choice.
If we can avoid relegation and Alan agrees to stay on, it’s not only the players who will be wanting next season to come quickly, but the masses of Newcastle fans too.
And season tickets – forget it – they will sell out like hot cakes.
The only losers in all of this we hope is the gossip press, who have tried and tried again to unsettle the club and destabilize it this season, through all the troubles we’ve had.
The Daily Express yesterday published a ridiculous report that Owen was retiring in June, but then quickly withdrew the piece, and replaced it with a report saying Owen was denying vigorously he was retiring, and took it as a personal insult.
Nobody can tell us that newspaper didn’t know when they printed the story that it was utter rubbish and let’s hope they are sued to high heaven – as the saying goes.
The deserve to be sued and made an example of, so gossip papers will think twice about writing ridiculous stories – especially about Newcastle United.
Comments very welcome.

Comment #1Sue the fcukers!! Nobody with a bit of sense believes them anyway. Nolan had his best game for us on Monday night imo. Should have a bit of confidence going into the match today.

Comment #2If Ashley doesn’t install Shearer as his new manager, whatever division we are in newt season, he will truely deserve the attendances he will get get.
Shearer has already advised Ashley about Bassong, Viduka and Owen and said he wishes to see his defence built around Beye, Taylor and Bassong.
He is almost certainly looking now at replacements for those he will offload in the coming weeks.
Shearer knows how to work the crowd and this shows the players if we as a club can get the right results thers no were else to compare for spine tingling atmosphere.

Comment #3A bit cringeworthy from Nolan, though.
