Shearer Like Alex Ferguson – He Gets To Know Everything

The Daily Telegraph has a good quote from local lad Steven Taylor this morning.

Alan Shearer – gets to know everything going on
The Newcastle defender, who has played extremely well for Newcastle over the last three months, says that it’s hard to hide anything from new boss Alan Shearer, because he has so many contacts in Newcastle, and will eventually find out anything he needs to.

The Newcastle defender today talked about the new boss’s omnipotence.

“He knows people throughout Newcastle and he will find out anything,”

“He’s like Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United – you can’t get away with anything.”

“That’s what this club needed. People can’t come here and think it’s a jolly-up.”

He must have found out about Alex Ferguson from either Alan Smith or Nicky Butt, both of whom have played at Manchester United for Ferguson.

It’s good that Alan Shearer is taking control, but that’s the way the man operates, and he will soon have the club ship-shape, assuming we can avoid relegation this season. If we do still get relegated we think Alan will stay on and bring the club straight back up next season.

But we are hoping for a win today against Fulham, so we can keep our hopes alive of staying up.
