Newcastle manager will not be able to play his strongest line-up at Aston Villa next Sunday.
Habib Beye – has hamstring injury
Alan Shearer will already be without the suspended Frenchman Sebastien Bassong, and defender Habib Beye is also struggling after it emerged the Senegal ace has picked up a hamstring injury. Oh no!
That’s bad news about Beye, but we couldn’t care less about Owen and would rather see Lovenkrands or Andy Carroll start rather than Michael, who has done nothing for us this year.
In fact if we do stay up we shouldn’t even keep toothless Michael, and then make Habib Beye the captain for next season.
Owen underwent a groin scan earlier today and we woulds expect he’s played his last game for Newcastle, and he’s been no use to us at all this year – whatever Alan says.
Let’s get rid of this player and start anew next season.
Shearer could be boosted by the return of Spaniard Jose Enrique at Villa Park, and we hope that David Edgar actually starts the game on Sunday, either at right back or preferably at center-back.
This lad will sweat bullets for Newcastle, which is what we need next Sunday. We don’t think Michael Owen sweats bullets for anybody.
Alan Shearer told the Evening Chronicle today:
“Michael Owen tweaked his groin and had a fitness test, which didn’t last very long.”
“We’ll get him scanned on Monday, so we’ll know the results Monday afternoon.”
“Jose’s a possibility too. We’ll see where we go from there.”
This is the hand Shearer has been given, and like all football managers, and like people in life generally, he will have to make the best of it, which we know he will.

Hats off to Beye – I think he knew this and that is why he stayed out to acknowledge the crowd after everyone else pi$$ed off down the tunnel.
Out of all the NUFC players – my two3/4 year old always sings Habib Beye when he sees the logo or shirt.

Comment #6Well they will play someone else if he isnt fit. And they will tear Ryan Taylor pieces instead. Agree with Ed on Beye though. If he is still here he should be captain.

Comment #10Dont make that we were too good against middlesbrough. We were playing the same way. Got a goal from a corner, after that one of Martins chances went in. Against fulham also we got chances but it didnt go in. thats it. But the way we play is still terrible. Why does the manager doesnt see these things on the pitch. People try hopeless long ball which 3 out of 4 times doesnt reach the target and whenever reaches the target its of no use. The problem is the opponents doesnt have to work to get the ball from us. They just have to wait maximum 5 passes. within that time we will try a long ball. Whoever reads this count the number of times nicky butt tries a long and find the percentage of its success. I have tried this and its less than 10% and of this 10%, 9% are those even if it reaches the target the player can do nothing. Yes i think Butt should be in the team because he is best def midfielder in the team but he is man who is trying to create things. I dont know how its going to work. there r problems in the tactics and no one sees it.

Comment #13see on ssn it says that we are appealing against bassongs sending off…..
makes a joke of the whole system if you ask me, he deserved it, terrible defending, but i suppose its due to the injury to beye and the position we are in.
But hey, if we get relegated, who fancies a trip to Wembley in the play offs??? I know i would!!

Comment #15Owen can go F**k himself! He has never earned the captain’s armband and he doesn’t deserve to play even if he was fit. He has taken the piss ever since he was signed. OK OK maybe he hasn’t taken the piss. Let’s say he has been working his socks off to be fit. The guy is useless when he’s injured and has been for ermm 4 years!! He never ever is fully fit. A complete waste of money, time and hope. Ship him out with the rest of the muppets.
