Since Alan Shearer arrived at the club, one player who has been transformed and revitalized is Aussie striker Mark Viduka.
Mark Viduka – in new strip last Saturday
And Newcastle Assistant manager Iain Dowie feels that Mark Viduka is completely ready for the game on Sunday, and we think if Newcastle can survive, Mark will still be with us next season.
Iain told the Evening Chronicle today:
“Mark’s an outstanding footballer.” “And he can be a leader for us as well, I really believe that.”
“He’s been there, and played at the top level.” “He relishes the pressure – I’ve seen it in his eyes when I’ve been working with him.”
“He thought he might not play again for this club, so he’s enjoying playing and he’s looking forward to Sunday.”
“We’re delighted with his contribution, and there’s more to come from him.”
If Newcastle do not survive on Sunday, it will be curtains for Viduka at the Newcastle club.
Mark is another player who could be massive for us on Sunday, because he’d love to get his first goal for Newcastle this season on Sunday – and maybe two.
One thing is certain – if Newcastle can survive in the top league on Sunday, then some of the lads will go down as heroes in the history of the Newcastle United club, as having saved the club in this absolutely gut wrenching of a season.
If we were playing for Newcastle on Sunday, we’d be walking out onto that pitch on Sunday, with our boots two inches off the ground, and fully believe anything was possible – if it would only save Newcastle.
But a 64 year old (worn out) player would not be able to do too much for the team on Sunday – we’d have to agree with that. 😀
Hey, on second thoughts, and having just felt my dodgy back again, let’s hope Mark can do that job for us on Sunday!
