Michael Owen Fit – On The Bench – Lovenkrands, Edgar Start

aston-villa nufc-crest4

Newcastle manager Alan Shearer is forced to change his back four with Habib Beye (hamstring) and Sebastien Bassong (suspended) not being available, and as expected David Edgar and Fabricio Coloccini come in for this crucial game.

And Damien Duff maintains his place at left back, with Jose Enrique on the bench, and that’s a good move by Alan, given Damien is more than solid there, and Jose hasn’t played for 3 weeks.

As we had hoped, Danish striker Peter Lovenkrands replaces Jonas Gutierrez in midfield, and Peter can score goals of course, which we need today.

And the good news is that captain Michael Owen (groin) has passed a late fitness test and takes his place on the bench.

We’re not sure he’s 100%  fit for today, but no doubt Alan will use Michael in the second half if we need goals.

Michael – on a personal note – this is a great chance for you to save Newcastle if you get on today – please play out of your skin for the team.

The bench is strong, but Nile Ranger didn’t make it – these lads Tim Krul, Ryan Taylor, Shola Ameobi, Michael Owen, Alan Smith, Jose Enrique, Jonas Gutierrez are on the bench and any one of them could turn out to be the hero for the Magpies today – as long as someone does. 😀

Our hopes are sky high, but our reality, in truth, is quite low as far as a win goes – but we’ll take the miracle today.

Howay The Lads!!

Shearer Talked the talk but did not walk the walk.
Results went our way all around us but our own. All said he brought Motivation to the team which he did but that is all he brought.

Under Kinnear we would not have been relegated today.

What a shame. Last game of the season, you need a point and then they don’t do more than that…

Today I’m asahmed to be a Newcastle United supporter, the players seem to not care if we were going down.

Awful diplay. Time to clear the decks, this team is mid-table material even in CCC.

It’s a relief in a strange way – like watching someone terminally ill you just want it over for them at the end. We were rubbish – complete overall needed. Lets see where we go from here

Well anyone who had a go at me because I said Michael Owen and Nicky Butt were cr@p at the beginning of the season… you can now admit I was right. Those two have cost us countless points this season poorly down to being terrible players.

Players who have played well this season… Bassong, Enrique, Viduka (when he played) and Oba.
I feel sorry for Oba having to play with Owen half the season. Owen makes other people look bad because he offers them nothing.
Our midfield of headed by the clueless Nicky Butt must have been the worst in history.
He took Birminham down and now hes taken us down. He is terrible just terrible…

Goodbye Oba, I’ll miss you… Good riddance Owen….

Guttless peformance and can honestly say we have been the worst team in the prem this season and fully deserve to go down.

But I do believe that this COULD be good for the club in the long term. we will start from the bottom and work our way up which is what we have needed for a long team, get all the shit guttless players. Owen springs to mind

We don’t deserve to stay up after that incredibly retched display in the 2nd half.

What a car crash of a team we’ve been. From Shepherd to Ashley to the managerial hot-potato to the awful transfers.

No fight, no pressure, no passion, no bravery, no nothing.

    No surprise there.

Just watching Hull there for the final few seconds, a bit strange, just standing there, waiting for the news..then mass celebration.
    ….That could have been us.
Ironic it is that Man U kids won et all.

Newcastle relegated for the first time since 1989.
So much for wanting Reading to be promoted. Lol.

It doesn’t feel right, I know it’s true, but it doesn’t feel real.

Boro and Newcastle, two massive Premiership clubs..someone please tell me that this is a dream.

I’d like to wake up now.

Sometimes you have to take a step back in order to move forward.

    *pat on the back*

As for those literally crying, come on please, the stadium is still there, the club is still there, nobody is dead. Matches will be played again next season and I’m sure you will enjoy the feeling of winning matches at a relatively lower level. You still get your North-East derby with Boro going down, it is not as bad as you think.
