Well it seems like the fans aren’t the only ones ready for a nervous Tuesday tomorrow, as we all await to see what Mike Ashley will do or not do on the remaining day of the transfer window.
Danny Simpson – bracing for a nervous Tuesday
We hope Mike brings in some players tomorrow, but it wouldn’t surprise us if he does nothing or the deals fall apart, such is our level of confidence in this guy to run a football club.
That disaster would be similar to what happened last year, if we don’t bring in enough players, and it would be even worse if we sell some of the players we have.
We’ve learned that nothing is impossible when you have an owner like Mike Ashley, who hasn’t go a clue what he’s doing – and doesn’t bring in the people who do – who could run the club for him.
The on-loan defender who has taken to everything Newcastle like a duck to water says most of the players are in the dark about their futures.
Danny has no clue as to whether he will be joined by further new arrivals before the window closes in 31 hours time, from the time of writing.
And it looks like the way they will all find out is to stay glued to the TV tomorrow, to see what their fate is.
What a way to run a football club – a disgrace if you ask us.
Danny talked to the Newcastle Journal today:
“If we can keep the squad together that we’ve got then we know we have a great chance of getting automatic promotion back to the Premier League,”
“It’s a bit of a mystery really and things can happen overnight. You’re training with lads and sometimes they don’t know they’ve been sold – the first time you find out is when you see it on television.”
“Hopefully we can bring a few players in but I think that the main thing is keeping the lads we’ve got. There’s not long left before the transfer deadline and as a young lad coming into the team I hope that we do keep the players we’ve got.”
“We’ve got some great players and we need to keep hold of them.”
Simpson admits it’s a huge shock, after seeing how good our players are, how we ever got relegated in the first place.
Well Danny, that’s a long story but having four managers in one season didn’t help, that’s for sure. And too many managers is something we must try to avoid this season – especially when the lads have started out so well with a system they obviously know well and seem very happy with.
And they’re playing goos attacking football too.
And he seems to love it at Newcastle where of course football is an important – the important part of life – and the the club’s magnificent Stadium overlooks the City Center, just in case anybody forgot. 😀
Danny continued:
“Newcastle United are a huge club and you understand that as soon as you join. When I get a taxi, stop for petrol or go out to eat – everywhere there is a black-and-white shirt.”
“Newcastle United are a huge club and you understand that as soon as you join. When I get a taxi, stop for petrol or go out to eat – everywhere there is a black-and-white shirt.”
“Everyone is so passionate about the club – as a player it makes you realise how important it is to do well here. I really want to repay them.”
Danny’s been a great signing for us – although he’s the only one so far – and he’s only on loan officially until January.
If we can get class youngsters like Danny in by tomorrow night, and keep the players we have already, we may be OK until January.
And if we are there or thereabouts come January, the club can strengthen to ensure automatic promotion, and then our current financial problems will decrease – because we’ll be in the big time again – where we need to be.
That plan would work, but if Ashley is still the owner, we will be holding our breath every week ,until he finally sells the club and gets out of Toon.

Comment #7The only hope is a takeover by the US group, who apparently have both the available clout (dosh) and experience in operating proffessional sports franchises, unlike dumb and dumber.
I certainly dont expect it to happen but at present it`s the only glimmer of light in the tunnel.
Those two jerks have now got me clutching at straws.
If in fact it does`nt happen we are screwed, stuck with dumb and dumber for the forseeable future.
And yes as we speak i am sure they are working hard to sell whoever is saleable, before the window closes, when if they had any clue they would be concentrating on recruting players for the long season ahead and the opportunity to get back into the PL .
Then what do I know !
