Newcastle Unchanged Against Blackpool

As expected Chris Hughton has fielded an unchanged side from the side that picked up a decent point at Wolves two weeks ago.

And our three new players Ben Arfa, Sol Campbell and Cheick Tiote are all on the subs bench, and we would expect at least Ben Arfa to make his debut this afternoon.

Newcastle will again play in a 4-5-1 formation with captain Kevin Nolan pushing forward as a second striker to support Andy Carroll, who is now fully recovered from his ankle injury.

The subs bench of    Krul, Campbell, R Taylor, Ben Arfa, Tiote, Ameobi  and Lovenkrands has to be one of the strongest Newcastle have had for quite a while.

Former Newcastle striker Marlon Harewood is on the bench for the Tangerines.

Three points today will see Newcastle climb the Premier League table from the 8th position they hold after the first 3 games.

Howay The Lads!!

Teams:

Newcastle United: Harper; Perch, Williamson, Coloccini, Enrique; Routledge, Smith, Barton, Gutierrez; Nolan, Carroll.
Subs: Krul, Campbell, R Taylor, Ben Arfa, Tiote, Ameobi, Lovenkrands.

Blackpool: Gilks, Eardley, Evatt, Keinan, Crainey, Vaughan, Adam, Grandin, Varney, Ormerod, Campbell
Subs: Halstead, Edwards, Southern, Phillips, Carney, Euell, Harewood,

Nolan hasn’t been too bad, actually. He’s had some shots off but he’s lacking pace.

Barton has done nowt but give the ball away.

No 3pm Saturday kick offs can be screened live in the UK. The reasoning is that fans of lower league clubs would stay in and watch the EPL on TV rather than going to see their local club.

Anyone know about radio stream? The ustream chap from last season has gone AWOL.

Get Hatem Ben Arfa on NOW!

I knew this would happen. The team thinks they are better than they are so dont try as hard.
Barton better have a better second half.

    Routledge off, Hatem on.
    Smith off, Tiote on.
    Nolan off, Shola on.

Barton hasnt seem to come off the dressing room! He had a terrible first half.

Our midfield 2 arent commanding enough.

edd case, you cant make 3 changes at half time, what happens if someone gets injured in the second half. Ben arfa and tiote coming on, will really lift the crowd

Yep just like a lot of people have been shouting on blogs a easy win for us on the cards here. Why do we always go setting ourselves up to be shot in the foot.

We’ll score 4 in second half. Smudger to score a brace to make up for error. When he gets one he will score a hatful this season.

I doubt Barton will get his place back in the England team on that performance. He is struggling to get in the Toon reserves. Gave the ball away constantly and has no pace. Not every playerneeds pace but playing three with no pace in midfield(Barton, Smith and Nolan) is asking for trouble.
