We’ve just watched the video of Newcastle captain Kevin Nolan’s interview on the club’s web-site, following the surprise defeat against Blackpool yesterday, and Kevin did not look too happy about things at all.
Kevin Nolan – we deserved what we got – no excuses
Kevin’s basic message was that there are no excuses, and Newcastle basically got what they deserved out of the game, because of their poor performance.
Kevin was obviously disappointed with the way Newcastle played, especially in that first half, when the Magpies looked second best and went in at the break 1-0 down, having missed a few of their own clear-cut chances.
Kevin seemed more positive about the second half, when at least Newcastle kept creating the chances and pushing forward all the time, but you cannot miss at least 3 chances when the Newcastle player is straight through one on one with the goalkeeper – and expect to win the game.
It’s a big disappointment for the players, not to mention the fans, and Kevin said that this kind of result came earlier than they had expected or had anticipated, and he thinks it is their worst team display in their 4 league games so far this season.
Kevin has asked the Newcastle fans, who he knows will be panicking a little after the game (he’s right there), to stick with the lads, and they will put right what went wrong yesterday.
As honest as ever, Kevin also said he missed a chance he should have put away, and basically that Newcastle deserved what they got, nothing, particularly because of their poor display in that first 45 minutes of the game.
We have to hope the lads take this stunning defeat to heart, and use the lessons they will have learned from yesterday’s game, into Newcastle’s next league game at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
But that game will hardly be an easy one either – so we suppose we must be back in the English Premier League.

Comment #1It’s a setback, not the end of the world. We needed to be humbled at home after the expectation caused by the villa result. Roll on the next game, put this one down as a learning experience.

Comment #3Just replied to you on another thread TOONTOONTOON. Bobby Zamora. Knackered for 4 months at least. Seen a fair bit of Henry, and to be honest, he’s far from the worst player I have seen in terms of dirtiest. To be fair it’s a toss up between Vinnie Jones and Robbie Savage in my book. Henry is just over enthusiastic imo.

Comment #4Thanks g i also saw vinnie jones and think henry is worse than him.Think that henry is a right big head myself, i saw some of the interviews he give after that game braging about it.In fact im surprised they can get the rest of the wolves team in the dressing room myself with henrys big head in there.1 things for sure is that wont be the last leg he breaks this season if the fa dont stamp down on him.

Comment #9I think Nolan is one of our worst players at the moment and because he’s the captain he will start every single game and that’s terrible.
