Barton Out Injured – Unchanged Side At WBA

We had said Joey Barton would be a key player this afternoon for Newcastle United at West Brom, but now he’s been ruled out injured, and that’s bad news.

Joey was expected to return to the first team after serving his 3 game suspension for violent conduct, but is now out through injury, which is a big blow to Newcastle.

So in that case, Chris has names an unchanged side from the starting eleven that did so well against Chelsea last Sunday, and that gives another chance to Danny Guthrie in central midfield, and Wayne Routledge out on the right wing.

For West Brom, Somen Tchoyi starts and manager Roberto Di Matteo makes one enforced change to the side that beat Everton 4-1 last weekend.

Tchoyi comes into midfield in place of Youssouf Mulumbu, who is serving the second game of a two-match ban.

Chris Brunt moves into the center of midfield with Tchoyi out on the right wing.

The referee for the game is Mike Dean of  Wirral shown above – he gives lots of penalties.

Howay The Lads!!

Teams:

WBA -Carson; Jara, Scharner, Tamas, Cech; Dorrans, Brunt; Tchoyi, Morrison, Thomas; Odemwingie.
Subs: Myhill, S Reid, Barnes, Fortuné, Cox, Ibanez, Shorey.

Newcastle United: Krul; Simpson, S Taylor, Campbell, Enrique; Routledge, Guthrie, Tiote, Gutierrez; Ameobi, Carroll.
Subs: Soderberg Kadar Perch Smith Lovenkrands Ranger Best

Jmiley: we will be in the mix yes…

but if we get back the 1st team we might stay top 10. Imagine if Barton, Nolan and Ben Arfa was playing!!

    Routledge/Jonas—Tiote—-Barton—-Ben Arfa
    —————————-Nolan———————
    ———————–Carroll————————-

I usually don’t like to splash out lineups here, but now it’s just to state a fact: some of our most important players are out. Barton is out most important player when it comes to linking play, and gaining confidence on the pitch.

Come on CH!! Give Ranger, Loven or even Best the chance for Ameobi.

I hate to jump on the guys mid match but that is a very lethargic performance and unless we press high we are going to get nothing from this game. Jonas and Strolla aren’t up for it at all. I’d throw on lovenkrands for jonas and ranger for stroll nice and early and use their pace to press press press

Tiote is good, but most opponents knew he will dribble the ball more thats why he dispossed couple of times

look at WBA, our players are better twice (in all position) but they play as a team

This has been painful today. Hoots is a deer in headlights on these days. He won’t sub early. If he does I’ll fall out of my chair.

If anyone says another word about Europe in regards to this team they are a fool! We need to survive and that is all. Just finish 17th at worst.

Absolute crap. Not closing down quick enuf, not working hard enuf. Routs off, Jonas on the right Lovens on the left cos at the moment creating nothing.

    Brutoon,
Player for player we are better than them? Take the goggles off mate. You sound like an England supporter. They will definitely finish above us in the league.

    TOON XI: @47

couldn’t agree more. But I think Hoots must think more about changing the team when we have these injuries on important players…

And the weird thing is that it seems Hoots refuses to see that Guthire and Ameobi simply aint good enough.. No disrespect to CH, but it is clear for ALL to see. We have other options.

Toon XI – in fairness to Hughton I could hear him screaming at Jonas and Strolla to start pressing but I agree also if they aren’t listening. Get em off.

Tiote isnt playing lazy.. neither are Enrique.

It just hits us harder when we have a fat little twat as a CM.. the most important position on the pitch.

anyone else think its worth a punt putting best on? I know he wasn’t great when he first came but started showing what he could do back end of last season and he’s gonna work harder than our lazy ‘captain’ has. Way to lead by example ameobi!!!

Guthrie plays better when we are on the front foot, more room in midfield. we defend to deep allowing them to cramp the midfield and defence so guthrie cant shine.

I just telling my lady that very thing. Hoots refuses to shake up the line up. It is a very predictable starting XI from him every week. He gives no one a chance who is outside his 12-13 favorite players. Absolutely frustrating!
